Two Side of the Same Coin
"Yo Ganke got a second? It's well uhh important"
"What's up?"
"It's about her,"
You pause. Taking a step back towards the small creak in the door that led to Miles' room where Ganke was seated on his bed and Miles at his desk. You can barely make out their voices, but its brief over the words you do hear that break you.
"Miles, i thought you said you'd stick with y-"
"I know, i know. But something about....."
"....what if she's not...love with yo....
"But...possibly.....just really like her...
"What about y/n?......"
".....never....."
"But....two......choose...."
Having enough you back away, burning tears at your eyes with the rapid pace of your heart in your ears.
For years, you'd been in love with Miles. You'd stuck by his side for most of them too and through every vent about his parents, days, and adventures about how much he missed Uncle Aaron, stressing over homework or exams together. You were there to help him, make him laugh, make him smile, make him feel like himself. Or at least you hoped and thought so. You loved the boy with every fiber in your body. It was sometimes hard to watch him so cluelessly not see how much you did.
As Miles rants on and on about this girl he had in his head on loop, the one who's making his heart flatter and his face heat up in a smile and blush. That wondered and awe look all over his face and the constant smile on his lips. The look of someone in love. Deeply.
You collected yourself to your best ability and knocked on the door stopping their conversation which worked and created an uncomfortable silence before the door opened revealing the tall boy with a faint smile and red still plastered on his face. You look up at it in pain, unlike the smile you'd return as well because of how fast your heart was beating just by looking at him.
"You knocked? You never do?"
"Oh. Uhh... I thought you two were talking about something important, so i didn't wanna intrude. " The excuse is half true, but he doesn't seem to buy it. He tries to let it go, but just by looking at your face, he can tell something is wrong.
"Y/n you ok -"
"Oh yeah, so I'm headed out. Uhh, clearing my mind, you know, "
"I can come with -"
"No! Uhh, i mean no. I don't want this to stop you guys talking, plus I'm just getting some air, you know?" You give a brief, forced sheepish smile, but inside, he still doesn't buy it. He turns to Ganke with a hint of what to do, but the male just lifts his shoulder unsure himself.
"Okay. Be safe. " You nod and walk out.

A week had gone by, and Miles was losing it. You were acting odd, or more or less... different. You touched him less, and you hugged him less. You talked less about your day in rants. You were out the house more, and you just kept your distance from him. It bothered him a lot to points he'd ask your friends, your parents, even teachers or people who you spoke to occasionally if you seemed off lately. He was disappointed and hurt to find out the answer was no, you were their bubbly girl, but with him, he was beginning to become a mear stranger.
So, in replacement of the lack of contact from you, he pulled towards the other person he couldn't handle, ignoring him. Spider-Woman who vaguely reminded him of his best friend.
