Amidst all of the chaos going around in the arena and Konoha as a whole, three shinobi were attempting to stealthily make their way through the village to inact their plan. These three were the sand siblings Gaara, Kankuro, and Temari. I said, attempting because they had encountered some unexpected resistance in the form of the sound trio Dosu, Kin, and Zaku.

Back when Dosu had asked that his teammates get medical help at the end of the second test, it led to the three of them being interrogated by Konoha, which led to further evidence that their was an attack planned against Konoha. But the details of what was going to happen were scarce with the three as they weren't important enough to get filled in on the big important parts of the plan. The only thing they needed to know was that they would play a pivotal role in helping bring about the downfall of the Third Hokage. That's all Zaku and Kin knew, but Dosu, however, knew more, a lot more. Dosu had been trained rigorously in how to use and manipulate sound waves, even having his hearing increased to a super human level, which he could increase further by manipulating the sound waves around him using his chakra. This would prove to come in quite handily when he overheard Orochimaru and Kabuto going over more details of the plan after he Kin and Zaku had left the area. Dosu would use his hearing to eavesdrop on the conversation, and what he learned immediately made him disregard whatever respect and honor he had for the snake sannin. He heard everything, how Orochimaru had killed the Kazekage, and how he had finally mastered the reanimation technique. And how he had finally found the three pawns he would need for the sacrifices for the reanimation. It was truly all coming together. Dosu wasn't by any means a genius, but he wasn't an idiot either. He put the pieces of the plan together and figured out that he was being sent to Konoha to die. Well, he wasn't going to go out like that. What kind of leader, what kind of savior, would offer up his own followers for sacrifices? Dosu had been lied to, and he would make that snake pay dearly.

At first, he had only planned on escaping by himself once the second round was over. Oroichimaru let them know how the Chunnin exams usually had a month break between to set up for the spectacle that was the third exam. Dosu planned on using that month as an excellent opportunity to sneak away. But then he had spent time with those annoying and always quarreling teammates of his, and to his surprise, he had actually begun to care about them. All the time spent training and going on and on about getting promoted to Chunnin so that they could all better serve Orochimaru together. They both always appeared so happy to be given the opportunity, Dosu couldn't bring himself to ruin their happiness by telling them the truth. So Dosu would devise another plan. His new plan was a simple 3-step plan. Step one get his teammates to safety. Step two inform the leaf of Orochimaru's plan. Step three watch it blow up in his face. But yet here he was with his three squad mates chasing after a ticking time bomb sealed inside of a broken and neglected child who can't even sleep, along with his almost as equaled broken siblings. So much for it blowing up on the snake traitors face.

Over with Jiraiya, he and Gamabunta were starting to get a little overrun by the number of snakes being sent toward them. Gamabunta and Jiraiya teamed up with a little toad oil and fireball jutsu combination that led to a few snakes getting burnt to a crisp. But the numbers were starting to get to them as they were quickly surrounded, but before any of the snakes could do any kind of damage they were blasted away by a powerful gust of wind that nearly knocked Gamabunta off of his feet. The snakes were then knocked out of existence curtisy of a powerful weapon based attack. Looking over, Jiraiya grinned excitedly as he saw Naruto and Gamaken helping him out with the snakes. "Who said you could have fun without us?" Naruto loudly asked. "We would have been here sooner, but I am ungraceful." Gamaken commented as he did the most graceful thing ever as he did a backflip and kicked two snakes in the face, while simultaneously hitting one of them that tried to sneak attack him in the head with his shield. Jiraiya merely laughed loudly and told them that it's better late than never. As the four of them began to push the snakes back.
