A Little Kindness

Battle on the bridge 2

   Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi were all watching the agonizingly slow pace in which Tazuna was building the bridge. The three couldn't really blame the man, considering most of his crew had either quit or been killed off by Gato's men. But with just him and a crew of about 5 people it was gonna take awhile.

   Sakura and Sasuke had even volunteered to help with some of the building. Even though Tazuna kept turning them down, saying that they had done enough already to help. They kept insisting, for no other reason than to satisfy their boredom. This time it was Kakashi who declined their offer, saying they need to stay focused. And that the enemy could appear at any minute. "We've been standing on this bridge for nearly three hours now, if they were going to attack they would have done it by now." Sasuke boredly said. As if to prove him wrong a deep mist suddenly blanketed the entirety of the bridge.

   "You were saying?" Kakashi tauntingly teased his student. As he got ready for battle. "Tazuna get behind us!" Sasuke yelled to the bridge builder, as he decided to ignore his sensei's little jab. As he and Sakura stood protectively in front of Tazuna, as they were on high alert and, looking for the enemy. Which they heard before they saw him.

   What they heard was of course the sound of the last of Tazuna's crew getting dismembered and beheaded by Zabuza's infamous blade. Then almost in an instant the mist was gone, and in its place was Zabuza and his accomplice, still wearing the fake hunter-nin mask.

   "Nice of you to join us Zabuza, we've been expecting you." Kakashi stated in his usual bored tone. "Oh a welcoming party, how nice of you. I see you even rolled out the red carpet for me." Zabuza said as he pointed to the trail of blood he left on the bridge. "I'm afraid the party is going to have to end early." Kakashi said as he revealed his sharingan. "It seems you really know how to please your guests." Zabuza said in a jovial tone, as he lept at Kakashi. Who intercepted him midair with a lightning charged kunai, battling against the giant sword of Zabuza.

   Sasuke was about to jump into the fray to assist his sensei, but was ultimately stopped by a handful of senbon being thrown at his feet curtisy of the masked assailant. 'So he wants to fight me it seems.' Sasuke thought yo himself as he withdrew a handfull of shuriken from his weapons pouch. "Sakura protect Tazuna at all costs. I'll deal with this guy." Sasuke told Sakura without looking away from the masked figure. With a quick nod she jumped away to carry out her new task.

   "My name is Haku." The masked figure spoke for the first time. "The only one who cares what your name is, will be whoever writes your obituary." Sasuke yelled as he threw his handful of shuriken toward Haku. Only to see them all deflected easily with his senbon needles. Which was what Sasuke expected, as he rushed toward Haku at blazing speeds. As he neared Haku hw took out a kunai in an attempt to slash him, only to be met in a stalemate by one of Haku's senbon. While the two struggled to overpower each other, Haku began to use one handed signs to create a jutsu. And before Sauke could comprehend what was happening Haku had created a barrage of ice needles and was hurling then right at his back.

   As they made impact, Haku thought that was the end. But was surprised when he saw that his ice needles had embedded themselves into the body of a dead worker. Quickly looking around he found Sasuke finishing a set of hand signs. As he heard Sasuke say "Raiton: Raijū Hashiri no Jutsu." As a large wolf made of lightning appeared and started running right toward him. Haku quickly sent another barrage of ice needles toward the electric canine, only for it to dodge each and every one of them. Seeing that fail, the masked enemy knew he had no choice but to dodge it. So he lept out of the way of the oncoming wolf, only for it to turn on a dime and continue to follow after him. Having to leap out of the way again, he noticed that thin line of electricity that connected the wolf to Sasuke. 'So that's it, he's controlling the wolf with that thin line of electricity.' Haku thought to himself as he continued to dodge the canine. 'Well let's see how far it can reach.' He thought to himself again as he took off running away from the wolf. When he got about 50 meters away the wolf disappeared in a burst of lightening, that nearly got Haku in its radius. 'So it seems it only has a maximum distance of around 50 meters. I'll have to keep that on mind for the future.' Haku thought as he prepared for the next attack.
