Previously (skip if you'd like): "Katherine," Damon said and everyone stared at him shock and confusion written on their faces. "She somehow escaped that dam tomb and got both of us trapped in some underground cave "We saw the coffin but couldn't get it open."
"So how do you know it's their mother or whatever?" Elena let out the breath, "It could just be a grave-"
"Nope." Damon said "It was a cave, with a coffin in it with names scribbled in on the walls" He showed them more pictures "Just like the ones Ric found with the curse" he added.
"Elena, you've been buddy buddy with that family," Stefan said "Think you can get something out of them?" he asked. "Like a last name" Damon said.
"Why don't we just drop this?" Elena said "I mean have they done something to cause any suspicion?"
"Why are you defending them? Klaus tried to kill you!" Damon said.
"I made a deal with Elijah," Elena said "He keeps his siblings mostly Klaus away from us and we not plan anything against him and his family, for all we know this person in the coffin could be a threat and that would be breaking my side of the deal with Elijah" she said.
Elena's phone binged and saw it was a text from Elijah, "I have to go" she said.
"No we have to deal with them now!" Damon vamped in front of her.
"Move Damon! I have somewhere to be!" Elena growled.
"Where Elena? Where do you have to be every minute of every day!?" Damon asked.
"Damon get the hell out of my way!" Elena said, she could have just used her magic but she had her bracelet on.
Damon grabbed her arm and she winced and Stefan vamped between them "Damon let her go!" He pushed his brother back.
Elena walked past the two brothers and to her car.

Elena arrived at the address where that Klaus had sent her. "Klaus?" she called out walking further into the house then stopped when she saw Katherine tied to a chair and Klaus holding a stake.
"What is she doing here?" Katherine asked groaning at the sight of Elena.
"Klaus?" Elena looked at her brother worried look on her face "What the hell is going on?" She asked him.
"Rebekah and I caught her leaving the spot where we buried Esther." Klaus said.
"I know," Elena sighed, she saw the confusion on his face "I'll explain later, does Elijah know?" She asked.
"No" Rebekah said walking into the room. "I've seen first hand on what she does to Elijah" Klaus told his sister.
"What?" Elena said "She and Elijah?" She raised an eyebrow, this was new information, they had caught her up on most things but not this.
"What the hells going on?" Katherine asked "Since when are you all buddy-buddy with the originals?" She looked up at Elena.
"She's our family" Klaus said.
Elena's phone rang and she looked at the caller "It's Elijah" she said.
"You have to answer it," Rebekah said "Nik and I are ignoring his calls but if all three of us are ignoring them then he'll get suspicious" she told her.
Elena walked out the house answering the phone "Hello?" She answered.
"Elena? Have you seen Nicklaus or Rebekah today?" Elijah said on the other end.
"I'm with right now," Elena said "Do you need anything?" She asked.
"May you put them on the phone?"
Katherine's screams from inside traveled outside. "Their a bit busy" she chuckled.
"Who was that?" Elijah asked "My Love what's going on?"
"Uh..."

"One more time luv," Klaus said taking the stake out of Katherine's leg "Why were you near that sight?" He asked "Answer truthfully or you die" Rebekah said.
"You die either way" Klaus said correcting his sister.
"I texted Damon to meet me there because I found a lead on how to destroy you and your family..." Katherine said letting out a groan finally telling the truth "And the ground collapsed we found a coffin and then left" well half of the truth.
Klaus growled and went to stake her killing her for good until he was flown back and Elijah was standing in front of Katherine. "Elijah" Katherine smiled at her former lover.
"What the hell is going on?" Elijah asked looking at his siblings and wife who had just followed him in.
"You told him!?" Klaus looked at Elena. "No one told you to tournament her!" Elena said "He heard her scream!" She added.
"You're here to save me" Katherine pulled out the victim card "I knew you still loved me."
"Ugh" Rebekah gagged at this and Klaus rolled his eyes as Elena vamped over to Katherine and snapped her neck.
"What the hell is going on? Why do you have Katerina?" Elijah was still confused.
"She and Damon found Esther" Elena answered before Klaus or Rebekah could, "They found where we hid her and her coffin," she added seeing the look on all three faces "He and Katherine planning on trying to wake Esther and get rid of all of you."
"She only mentioned that she told Damon to meet up with him and how the ground collapsed and they fell in then got out" Rebekah said looking at Katherine's unconscious body.
"Can't believe everything that bitch tells you" Elena said.
"Niklaus, bring her body back to the mansion we'll put her in the basement" Elijah said "Get more out of her"
"Rebekah, Elena you're riding back with me" he said walking out of the house.
"What?" Klaus said. "I don't think he was asking" Elena said.

The ride was silent, Rebekah sat in the back while Elena was in the passenger seat and Elijah was driving. Elena was having trouble reading Elijah's face.
This was the first of her hearing of his relationship with Katherine, she wasn't mad, he didn't remember her she couldn't blame him.
"Lijah," Rebekah's voice brought her out of her thoughts "Say something" she pleaded her brother "We know your—"
"I'm not mad about Katerina" Elijah cut off his sister "I'm just thinking about to how to stop the Salvatore's."
"You don't need to worry about them" Elena said "I can handle Stefan and Damon," she said.

A/N: So this book will be paused for a moment, I'm not leaving or anything I'm just going back and updating and fixing errors on some chapters, if you've found some in this or any previous chapters please let me know.
I will also make the book complete while editing but it's not finished that chapter will be added in the beginning of the book for future readers but once I'm finished it will become on going again.
