I sat in the waiting room trying to remain calm, I've been through some scary shyt in my life; bullets flying so close to my head that I could feel the heat stinging my ear, walking through a neighborhood with a bunch of dudes that I knew hated me, even a bottom (not Ramses) turning my white sheets pea soup green... but this, I've never felt fear like this. It was actually a pretty chill day, I was sittin with my dad, Ramses and Manolo were both at work so it was me, Felon, and my parents. My dad was talking shyt (as usual) and then he got up, I didn't think anything of it as he walked up the stairs... then a few minutes later, I heard my mom scream... I jumped up so fast and ran to see what was going on just to find my dad in the hallway. The paramedic said he had a heart attack and even on the drive to the hospital the words didn't seem to register, I had to be strong and remain calm because my mom... well to say she was taking it hard was an understatement. Saying that I needed to stay calm was easy... actually doing it was another thing entirely as now I was forced to wait and to me that was the hardest part because there was nothing I could do. Focus on things you can control, the first thing I needed to do was make a few phone calls the first person I called was Nikolai.
"How is she?" I asked quietly because the waiting room was full of people and I didn't want none of them in my business. I sat there waiting for Nikolai to respond and that told me everything I needed to know, I watched Felon playing with his toy truck and prayed that my sister was holding it together for herself and her baby.
"I broke it to her as gently as possible and she still didn't take it well... She called an Uber, she didn't even wait for me to get dressed, she should be arriving there shortly. I'm on my way now but she'll definitely get up there before I do... I just don't want that kind of stress on her." Nikolai said and I could tell he was trying his best to hide the fear in his voice. "Have you spoken to Nolo?" Nikolai asked.
"Yeah... he's picking up Ramses, then they'll be heading this way... I also called Arin, he and Daniel should be on a flight but I don't expect them back until later tonight." I said glancing over at my mom who was cackling loudly and getting dirty looks from the white couple sitting behind her. "Aight, I'll let you focus on driving... call me when you get here. Love you lil bro..." I said hanging up.
"I don't care what nobody says, these Tubi movies are a fuckin ki...." My mom said laughing, and I would forever be pissed at Ramses and Daeja for introducing her to Tubi because that's all she talked about.
"How are you feeling mama?" I asked sitting next to her, as much as they fussed and fought they'd been together for so damn long that I knew behind her smile was turmoil.
"Waiting...." She said before laughing, I wanted to know what that meant but my attention was drawn towards a woman putting on an entire show. How Farrah found out about my dad I'll never know, but she was showing her entire ass, crying and carrying on like a damn lunatic. "Handle that before I beat her ass AND yours...." My mom said as Felon ran over and jumped in my mom's lap, it was clear my son was embarrassed by his mom's actions and didn't want anyone knowing they were related... smart kid.
"Nononono... Lord WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" Farrah howled as I approached her and since all eyes were on us, I gently placed my arm over her shoulder and steered her away, until I found a unisex bathroom. "Please tell me you were smart enough to get life insurance on your parents I know I was.... they aren't going to live forever and with your dad dead, you can cash in..." Farrah said drying her fake tears.
"Bitch, my dad isn't dead..." I said through gritted teeth.
"Oh... well that's unfortunate." Farrah said. "Anyways, I was just coming up here to offer my support but now that I see it isn't needed I guess I can save the tears for later... oh before I leave I did want to offer my congratulations to my twin and Manolo on their baby, you know my mom is excited to have another grandchild and I wanted to drop off this gift." Farrah said handing me a card with the name of an abortion clinic on it. "No need to thank me...." She said smiling.
