I tossed out a casual "Hey, guys!" to Sara's friends, and they replied back with the same chill vibe. I was excited to meet up with my best friend Faith and a few others later, so I headed upstairs to get ready. I wanted to look good, so it took me about an hour to feel happy with how I looked.

As I was finishing up, I smelled delicious takeout coming from downstairs. That meant our parents were back, which made me feel a bit more relaxed. I put on a sleek, tight black dress that fit me perfectly. I straightened my hair and put on some makeup, trying to look glamorous.

Once I was ready, I took a deep breath and went down the stairs. I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. I knew my outfit looked great, but I could feel some eyes on me, which made my heart race. I tried to shake it off and smiled, ready to enjoy the night.

Just then, Sara walked up to me with a big smile and opened her arms for a hug. "You look amazing!" she said as she hugged me tightly. I could feel her excitement.

"Thanks! I'm getting ready for the party later," I replied, matching her energy.

Sara stepped back and held my shoulders. "Are you really going? Just remember, don't drink anything and don't take anything from people you don't know!"

I laughed and rolled my eyes playfully. "You're not my mom, you know."

"But I am your older sister!" she said, a serious but playful look on her face. "I just want to make sure you have fun and stay safe."

"Okay, okay! I promise I'll be careful," I said with a smile. I appreciated her concern but wanted her to know I could take care of myself.

With that, I grabbed my bag and headed toward the door, feeling excited. Tonight was going to be fun, and I couldn't wait to make memories with Faith and the crew.

Four hours later, I was finally back home. Most of Sara's friends had left after the party, but a couple of them were still hanging out: Mendy and Leo.

As I walked in, I noticed Mendy smile at me. Leo just looked over, his expression a bit hard to read. Trying to be friendly, I said, "Hey, guys! Do you want something to drink?"

Mendy shook her head and replied, "No, we're good."

"Okay, but if you change your mind, feel free to grab something from the fridge," I offered with a smile.

After that, I headed upstairs, my mind still buzzing from the party. First things first: I needed to wash off all the makeup and hop in the shower for a quick refresh. The warm water felt amazing.

Once I felt clean and relaxed, I threw on my favorite PJs, feeling a bit better, I went back downstairs to grab some strawberries from the fridge.

As I walked down the stairs, I spotted Sara with Mendy and Leo in the living room. Sara looked up and asked, "Hey, where are you going?"

I smiled and said, "I'm heading to the office."

Sara's eyes brightened as she replied, "We're about to order pizza! Do you want some?"

"Yes, please! When it arrives, just bring it to me," I said, feeling happy at the thought of pizza.

"Okay, will do!" Sara said with a grin.

With that, I made my way to my parents' office. I decided to escape to the quiet space for a bit. Sitting down on my dad's comfy sofa, I took a long sip of water and let out a sigh of relief. Finally, I had a chance to relax. I could hear Sara and Mendy talking softly in the background.

As I sat there, I thought about the fun night I had. I felt grateful for my friends and the good times we always shared.
