Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Fox Rise

Chapter Four

It was a month until a new request was in the newspapers.
Some people would print a message or post a picture of a missing loved one or a missing dog, anything and everything was in the newspapers, men looking for wives, wives looking for partners, people looking for specific items and whoever paid the most got Splinters attention, selling cars and bikes, clothes and such.

The turtles current home or lair wasn't rife with much as they didn't aquire alot. Whenever they needed to move everything could be shifted in five minutes. Their need for electricity was practically non essential due to the cells in their eyes, and their favorite food, which was pizza was usually stolen from a store.

The turtles didn't just live in the sewers, they lived anywhere, they used the sewers and tunnels for moving around, the same way humans use tunnels above ground.

During their patrol that night the sky was clear.
A tiny light which stood out among the stars had caught Raphaels eye, it was slowly moving along then got bigger then seemed to slow down, on entering the atmosphere it started to burn up, a few seconds later it passed over head so fast it was amazing to see it.

"Anyone see that" talked Raphael into his communicator.
"See what" asked Leonardo
"It looked like an asteroid, it burned up then passed over my head at incredible speed" replied Raphael
"Never seen it" spoke Donatello.
"I didn't see anything" added Michaelangelo
"There, did you hear that bang"? asked Raphael.

The asteroid hit ground sending a shockwave through the city.

"I'm going to check it out" spoke Raphael.
"Hold your ground Raph" ordered Leo.
"If we get there first we can get that rock then sell it for cash" said Raph.
"By the time you get to it there will be too many humans, plus the weather is clearing up which isnt good"
"Leo is right Raph, it's just a stone" added Donatello.
"Its not just a stone, its rock from space, you know humans will pay millions for it" shot Raph.
"This planet is an asteroid, your living on a moving one Raph" replied Leo.
"I gotta agree with Raph, even if we can get a piece of it, it's worth the risk" helped Mikey.
"I will see you guys back home" then Raph shot off across the rooftops, his communicator off.
"Mikey go with him"
"Why me"? complained Mikey
"You supported his decision, move it" ordered Leo.
Mikey sprang off, hot on Ralph's trail.

By the time Raph had gotten to the impact site Mikey was beside him. Eighth Avenue met up with Central Park where the asteroid hit, at 3AM there was humans all rushing towards it.

Raph sighed heavily. It was no good.
"Such a waste"
"Yeah"
"Lost cash can't help anyone"

Something in the trees moved, it darted left and right in a kind of zig and zag motion then straight left going west.
"Did you see that"? asked Raph
"What the...." Mikey watched as the object gathered speed and before they knew it, it was gone.
Raphael looked at Mikey and Mikey looked back.
Michaelangelo nodded "No way, they don't exist"
"You seen what I seen"
"I know what I seen and it wasn't even remotely what you think it is"
"What then"?
"A bird, I don't know"
"I never seen a bird move that fast" added Raph
"Maybe it's a foreign bird he haven't seen before"
"I don't know Mikey, it looked like it was evading"
"Evading what, the asteroid"?
Raph stayed silent then grunted as he looked at more and more people gathering...."Humans, lets get out of here Mikey, I'm starting to feel sick".

Michaelangelo and Raphael informed Leo and Don they would meet them back at the Van.
A high pitched Screech turned Raph and Mikey's head west.
"Could be anything, lets get home" said Michaelangelo.

Back in the Van Raph and Mikey told Leo and Don what they seen.
"We best let Master Splinter know" said Leo.
"Do you always have to go to him, your a leader too, can't you make a decision"? asked Raphael.
"We all can, just like you did tonight" reminded Leo.
"Yeah and you held me back, I could have gotten a piece of that rock"
"And then what"?
"Sell it, einstein"
"What if it's carrying a disease" asked Leo.
Raphael burst out into laughter with Donatello and Michaelangelo.
"Yo Leo, I rest my case" laughed Raph.
"Whatever, if you were faster on them skeleton legs you would have gotten a piece of that rock".
