The Destroyers were not meant to leave their home Multiverse, that was a multiversal truth, there might be exceptions to the rule here and there, but the Destroyers did NOT leave their homes without good reason or at all.
But if an entity superior to them kidnapped them... well, that changed things.
(That changed the Destroyers themselves).
It had been years since he lost control of his powers, years since that terrible day when for the first time in his existence he feared for his life, he had been so convinced that Ink would murder him like any other Creator would have done after destroying so much of his life. job.
In any other situation, the idea of asking for forgiveness from anyone outside of his Multiverse would be a personal shame and betrayal, but he had already committed the greatest betrayal towards his partner by destroying someone else's creations.
But not only did Ink let him live, but he forgave him, he looked at him, surrounded by the dust of his creations and did not see a threat to his Multiverse, he did not see a traitor to his Creator, there was nothing in his eyes but compassion and sincerity when he said, when he promised, that he would help him.
(As if Erimos needed anything more than to return home.)
But that promise... the reminder that the being in front of him was not the same as all the others, perhaps in the worst possible sense, words that made him wish that Ink was like any other Creator, but at the same time...
Wasn't it a good thing that he wasn't? Wasn't it a good thing that he not only let him live but allowed him to fulfill his purpose even at the expense of his own creations?
It should be, Erimos should be grateful for the few good things in such a terrible situation, but nothing stopped the paranoia from growing more every day in him, Ink's friendship and understanding felt like a trap in the depths of his Soul, his Nature itself was refusing to accept the kindness of this new Creator.
And he didn't understand why, he didn't know if it was normal to feel like this in this situation, if it had something to do with how weird this Multiverse was in general, or if there was something wrong with Erimos himself, he didn't know, his being was in constant conflict, his Soul kept creating excuses and reasons why he should distrust Ink, while his mind seemed unable to see malice in him.
He's childish
He's young.
He never stop creating.
He TRIED and look how good that went.
He's treating us like we were HIS Destroyer.
He's trying to be our friend.
He treats us like a villain for our nature.
He doesn't, his Multiverse does.
They call us 'Error'.
He has no control over that.
...He's not Chroma, not our partner.
He's Ink, he's, our friend.
And so, it was an endless cycle, logically he knew that Ink was doing more than anyone would expect him to do in a situation like this, but he couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong with... well, absolutely everything.
And that made him feel guilty, he did his best to let go of those negative feelings because it wasn't Ink's fault, he was just as confused about this situation as he was. Because he didn't deserve his distrust and suspicion. And so, he tried, tried to enjoy his time with him, talk like before, explain to him about his purpose, or just sit and listen to him talk about his new projects.
