This is supposed to be a side story, but idk how good would've been to make a separate book for this like I did in AO3, so have this interlude with Chróma saving a normal FGOD Error!

1st Multiverse

It was the end.

For years now, Error had come to the disheartening conclusion that he couldn't undo what Fate had done to him, the threads that tightened around his Soul and forced him to murder universes every time Ink brought the Multiverse to the brink of collapse.

He was so tired, he just wanted to go back to Nightmare and the rest of the boys, he wanted to go back to his home, close his eyes, and pretend he was with the only people in the entire multiverse who cared about him.

But Ink's voice reminded him that that was no longer an option, had never been one, Fate had taken away his autonomy when she tore him away from his original family. He had nothing left that wasn't at risk of being taken from him as well.

(At least Blue and Dream were here, their worried faces were almost soothing, knowing that they tried to delay this the best they could without being labeled as traitors, even if Dream only did it for Nightmare's sake).

"It's the end Error, you're surrounded and there's nowhere to escape! So, for once in your miserable existence, make the right decision and give up." As the leader that he was, Ink's voice echoed throughout the valley, he was sure that the Sans on the other side of the Universe could hear him without problems.

His hands were shaking, he wanted, for once, to be able to fight at full strength, even if just to be petty and not give the 'Protector of the Multiverse' the satisfaction. But the threads in his Soul kept him in his place, Fate wouldn't let him die but would probably enjoy watching him get closer to break his mind and body further.

He preferred to die by his own hand rather than let that happen, even though it hurt him to leave his friends behind and it broke his heart to give up the hope of returning to Reaper's side...

He could no longer bear this situation of pain and working without regard for his well-being, and deep down he knew that all of his loved ones would understand, and would not blame him for choosing death.

But when his silence lasted too long and Ink along with his followers were preparing to attack, when he was preparing to open a portal directly into the void...

The screams began.

Coming from a voice that he could recognize anywhere, that had been part of his nightmares and daily life but in a way that she had never sounded before. She was scared.

Something had scared Fate.

Something was hurting Fate.

"Where are those screams coming from?!" It was the question that was asked most around him the longer the screams went, and perhaps it was because, in his confusion, Error for the first time showed something more than forced indifference to what was happening, that no one was accusing him of being to blame for it.

A confusion and alertness like no other began to spread when among the screams the sound of something breaking echoed, and the way something inside him knew that Fate's screams were heard throughout the Multiverse, it knew that this new noise did it too.

The threads around his Soul were losing strength with every second and for a moment Error allowed himself to hope that this was the salvation he had longed for.

And for the first time since he was transformed, his hope was not destroyed.

The sound of breaking stone silenced everything, Fate's screams ceased to be the focus when a new presence landed on the hill behind Ink, killing everyone who was on it.
