-Jungkook-

I sprinted to the basketball field, cursing under my breath. I was late—again. My thoughts had been consumed by Y/N, making it impossible to focus. I still felt a bit embarrassed by what I'd asked her on the phone last night, too tired to realize what I was saying. But deep down, I wanted her to know that I genuinely cared.

As I approached the bleachers, I saw my teammates huddled together, discussing strategy. I glanced at the sky, but my eyes were drawn back to the bleachers, which were empty except for her. Y/N sat there, reading a book, her hair flowing in the breeze. She hadn't noticed me yet, and I almost wished she wouldn't. I felt a pang of embarrassment but pushed it aside. I needed to apologize.

"Hey, can we start practice a bit later? I have something to do first," I told my teammates. They nodded, and I rushed over to Y/N. Standing beside her, I blocked the sunlight from hitting her face. She looked up, smiling brightly.

"Hey, Y/N," I said, extending my hand. She took it, and I helped her up. "I'm really sorry about what I said yesterday. I was half-asleep and didn't realize what I was saying."

She blushed and looked away. "It's okay. My brother overheard because my phone was on speaker. But he knows you, so he wasn't too bothered."

"Yeah, I've been friends with him for ages," I said, feeling a bit relieved. Her pink lips caught my attention, and I had to force myself to focus.

"Well, you have practice, right, Ponytails?" she teased, and I frowned slightly.

"Ponytails?" I leaned closer, curious.

"It's just a nickname I gave you," she said, trying not to laugh.

"Why?" I asked, even more curious.

"I can't tell you now. You're late for practice." She grinned cheekily.

"Come on, just tell me," I pleaded, but she shook her head.

"You'll find out eventually. Have a good practice!" She picked up her stuff and started to leave. I couldn't let her go without asking her out.

"Wait," I said, grabbing her wrist gently. "Can we go out tonight? On a date?"

She smiled shyly and nodded. "Okay, Ponytails."

I grinned. "I'll pick you up at 7 pm."

"Sure. And you'll tell me my nickname then?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Deal," I said, stepping back and watching her walk away. I couldn't wait for tonight.

-Y/N-

I stood in front of my closet, feeling both excited and nervous. Jungkook had asked me out this morning, and I had no idea what to wear. I called Jimin for advice.

"What's up?" he answered cheerfully.

"Jungkook asked me out," I said, feeling a bit panicked.

"That's great! Why do you sound worried?" he asked.

"I don't know what to wear," I admitted.

"Wear something black and sexy. It's almost 7, so it's definitely a dinner date," he suggested.

"Thanks, Jimin," I said, feeling a bit more confident. I hung up and found a black, body-hugging dress. It was perfect. I did my makeup, put on my heels, and let my hair fall over my shoulders. I felt ready.

I walked to my brother's room and opened the door without knocking. Jungkook was sitting on the bed, talking to my brother.

"You're early," I said, nervously adjusting my dress.

"He was early, so I invited him in," my brother explained.

"You were asking how you look? You look good, but not as good as me," my brother joked. Jungkook and he laughed together.

"Can I take her now?" Jungkook asked my brother seriously.

"You're asking like you're going to marry her or something," my brother joked. They both laughed, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

"Soon," Jungkook said playfully. My brother raised an eyebrow.

"So we're going to be brothers-in-law soon? Great!" They fist-bumped, and I rolled my eyes.

"You're making me wait," I said, trying to sound annoyed but feeling nervous.

"Okay, okay, let's go," Jungkook said, offering his hand. I took it, and we walked out together.
