"Now mi see why dem seh no deh no wid artist man, wicked dem" the lady who Lani was doing her nails said.

 She started telling her story but mi nuh ina di chattings caz mi hungry and dah oman yah come a chat har business like a everybody wah hear. I did another part in the hair I was braiding while yawning. 

"Yah yawn so like yuh hungry" my best friend Kayli, Lani's twin said laughing. 

"A true yuh not even know ino gurl, tuff mah tuff e out" I said and she laughed.

"So glad mi eat lunch already soon 2 o clock man" she said and I sighed.

The bell on the door jingled signaling someone has entered the salon but mi too lazy fi lift my head right now. 

"Likkle bwoy e betta yuh go weh from yah so eno, look like mi ave money" a woman's voice said.

"Mada gimmie e $1000 mek mi go buy e food nuh man, mi leff mi wallet" a male voice answered making me lift my head to see what was happening.

Ignoring my subconscious I tuned back in to their conversation. 

"Here man gwaan go buy e, afta yuh gimmie e likkle money fi do mi hair yah come tek e back" the lady said kissing her teeth. 

"Chill nuh mumz, thanks stillz" the man said moving from where he stood to sit down in the waiting area. 

He is tall, has long hair and look to be in his early twenties. The lady on the other hand, his mother I think was shorter and had on a bonnet. 

"Excuse me, I'm looking for Toya?" she said walking over to me with a smile. 

"See mi here, yah mi 1 o clock?" I asked and she nodded. 

"Alright sit down ova deh so till mi finish dah hair yah" I said, and she went to sit down beside her son who was on his phone typing something.

He looked up at her when she said something to him and he looked at me nodding, mi look weh caz mi nuh wah nobody think seh mi a fass ina dem business. 

'But no dat yah do?'  

Di likkle bitch ina mi head ask, 

'yuh man a bitch yer, yuh not even av one' 

kiss mi teeth. 

"Yo Toya mi a go pon lunch, soon come" Lani said to mi and mi cut mi eye and nod, she walked out of the salon laughing. 

"Know yuh hungry man" she seh and mi kiss mi teeth.

I sprayed the shine spray on my client's hair, collect my money and called over the lady. Thank God a di last client before lunch, hungry a box mi man, I removed her bonnet and saw that she already cornrowed her hair and is ready for the wig cap. 

"Weh yuh name again Tanya?" I asked and she nodded looking confused, 

"Mi rate yuh, mek mi job easier" I said, and she smiled.

"Yea man caz mi a seh mi nuh wah spend no long time ina Spanish Town so mi jus prep it." she said. 

"Oh mi appreciate it man caz mi hungry, mek mi go get yuh wig and so" I said walking to my storeroom to retrieve her wig that she dropped off two weeks ago.

Returning to the chair I felt eyes on me, and I looked over Kayli and she busy wid har nail client so ano she, mi look up pon Tanya's son and ketch him a stare pon mi,
