Bronya

Where am I...?

I opened my eyes groggily, my head still having that usual ache. A wooden ceiling...? I turned my head around and noticed Seele sitting on that little stool, dozing off. I couldn't help but crack out a smile. She really cares about me, hmm?  I relaxed a bit, but soon all sorts of problems started to appear in my mind again.

Supreme guardian, the hotel isn't getting enough profit. Supreme guardian, there is a wild clan of trotters that are always blocking the citizens' path. Supreme guardian, many people suggested for another pathway to be available from the overworld to the underworld. Supreme guardian, someone requested for the local museum to be closed.

I shook my head repeatedly, trying to drive those work related thoughts away, but ended up failing. I drummed my fingers on the mini-table before me, trying to think of how to solve these problems. My mind started to wander and I found myself staring back at Seele. Her dark-purple hair, her indigo tinted eyes, her arm band...

Wildfire's co-leader... She looks so sweet sleeping on that chair.

I let out a tense chuckle, my tension releasing. I'll do my best for Seele, for Natasha, for the wildfire and the overworld... As long as they're safe.

I climbed out of the bed quietly, afraid that I'll wake Seele up.

Where are my boots...?

I looked around, worried about my boots, because they were given by my mother, Cocolia. This sure reminds me when she was alive... I shook my head and cleared those unwanted thoughts, focusing on where to find the boots. Black, with bronze and blue jewels covering them...

Ah. There it is.

The pair of boots was standing next to Seele, one of her hands dropping down from the chair, her fingers brushing the hem of the boots unconsciously. I felt the tips of my lips lift up, a sense of comfort washing over me.

This was her plan, wasn't it? So I can't leave without talking with her.

I walked over to Seele as silent as possible, trying not to wake her up. I placed another chair near her, the pair of boots in between us.

Seele

"No... Bronya...?! Bronya, no!"

I watched as Bronya fell to the ground, collapsing on the hard concrete ground. A gaping hole peeked at me on her shoulder, deep red blood running down her torso. Her white clothes are now stained red.

Bronya. Fragmentum monsters. Kill.

I flicked my scythe, my mind focused on the fragmentum monster in front of me. One step. Two steps. Three steps.

"S-seele...?" Bronya's voice reached my ears. Tap. Tap. I opened my eyes wearily, looking at Bronya. Bronya...? Her clothes are still the same shade of white, and she looks as happy as ever.

"Bronya... Please don't leave me again." I shuddered when I replayed the scene from my dream again. I felt soft and smooth skin tracing my palm, slipping in between my fingers, caressing my hand. A comfortable presence of a hand petting my head made me sigh from relief.

"Seele, it's me. I'm here. I promise you I will never leave you till my last breath."

I smiled and nodded. "Are you sure you don't need more rest? You know you can talk to me about anything... I don't want you to faint from stress again."

"I'm fine, Seele. Please, don't worry about me. I'm the older one, therefore it's my job to protect you, you purple airhead~" Laughter filled the room, and a bright smile is on Bronya's face once again. What's this weird little feeling in my heart...?
