Bronya
I held back my tears as I walked towards the doors of my office, trying to get out of my workspace. What the hell is wrong with the silvermane soldiers...?! They're the ones working for me, not the other way around... I stepped out into the cool breeze of Belobog, my ribbon becoming undone, letting loose of the curls that seemed so heavy. I can't do this anymore... People always thought I wanted to be the Supreme Guardian, but even I don't know if that's true these days. I'm doing my best for the citizens, yet they're commenting on my personal life...?
I knocked at Belobog's local museum. It's past working hours but Pela should be there...
"Who's there?" Pela's timid but steady voice reached my ears.
"It's me, Bronya."
"Come in then. You know you don't have to knock." I pushed open the old wooden door as it creaked beneath the movement, revealing an exhibition room with unique kinds of treasure. I looked around and spotted Pela pushing her glasses up her nose and was walking towards me. "Bronya, you okay...?" I nodded and sighed.
"You've probably heard of the rumours, haven't you...?" Pela gave me a sympathizing look and gave the barest of nods.
"You don't have to be the Supreme Guardian if you don't want to, you know. According to my calculations, there are at least five percent of Belobog that would fit in your role." I smiled a little after hearing Pela comfort me in her own way.
"Still, it's been my dream since I were little..." I sniffed, the tears in my eyes threatening to fall once again.
"It's your choice, Bronya. Seele or continue being a Supreme Guardian...? I saw both of you together, Bronya. I didn't even need to analyze your relationship to see both of your love towards eachother."
"Why can't it be both...?" I stared ahead emptily, the ghost of Seele's lips on mine still there. The truth is a part of me still hoped that I could achieve both without giving up or sacrificing anything. Even though the logical side of me knew that it wasn't really a choice.
"Well, I prepared a surprise for you to cheer you up, Miss Supreme Guardian." Pela had a hint of sarcasm in her voice, which was a totally new thing. I raised my eyebrows suspiciously, the depressing thoughts in my mind just now vanishing into nothingness. Whoosh. A flash of purple appeared right beside me. A wave of delight and curiosity went through me.
"Seele...?" I looked at the young woman that I dreadfully love beside me. She gave me a cheerful smile, perhaps an attempt to make me feel better.
"Bronya, I told you I'll be here no matter what, right?" Her promising words gave my heart a teeny clench, butterflies sprouting in my stomach.
