Most people believe that, once you die, you have either 1 of 2 destinations: Heaven or Hell.
Most people's goal in life is to try and get to Heaven. And so was mine. I don't wanna die and live in tyrrany and danger for all of eternity, and I don't think you would either.
So imagine my surprise when, after my death, I'm brought to a dark room with a glowing beam of white light and a putrid stench. There's 2 people: a man in red clothes and a larger man in white clothes with a purple sash lined with gold and silk. If it wasn't obvious enough, it was God and Satan.
"2 choices: Heaven or Hell," God says. "Heaven, of course!" I say, with excitement. Is this really what happens when we die? We get a choice between heaven and hell? And, if so, then who would even want to go to Hell?
Unfortunately, I was far off. "No, I didn't mean that," God says. "You see, I need you to help me." "Anything, O God," I say. "Good," He replies back. "Me and Satan here need to have some conversation about my humans back down on Earth," "Ok. What do I have to do?" I ask. "Simple. I need you to make the all-powerful decision of who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell," He states.
Wait, what? Out of all people he could've chosen, he chose me? Why me? So I asked exactly that. "We came to an agreement that whoever had died when I snapped my fingers, the person who dies at that exact moment will fill in that job for me." He replied. Oh. I didn't feel as special as before, but now I could be able to change everything. "Depending on how you do, you may be able to stay the "decision maker" or not. You might even get "perks," but that's for later."
Now I had so many questions. What if I make a bad decision? Am I still alive? Do I just chill here, or what? But, before I had known it, I was back down on Earth. I still felt normal, I didn't see any change. I had been up there for about an hour, but my phone says time hasn't passed at all. I got up and went inside my house.
"How was your new school?" My mom asked. "Uh, It was good. I made a new friend," I say. "That's wonderful. Now go unpack your stuff and set up your room. I started dinner 40 minutes late, so it won't be another hour till food is served." I did as she had asked. I closed my door and pondered about my newfound ability. I felt something in my chest. Swiftly, I put my hand into my shirt pocket and checked inside. There was a smart watch. An Apple Watch, actually. I set it up and checked out the different apps I had every few minutes as I was unpacking.
One app stood out to me, though. It was called "GsDMA." Now, I had no idea what this could possibly be. So, naturally, I opened it. It had me choose a country, a state, a city, and then a person in the city. I looked up my city and searched up my name. The program said that I couldn't decide where I can go. Weird. I searched up my mom's name, Madeline Larcy. Her name showed up and I clicked on it. I had 2 options: "Heaven" and "Hell." It hit me. This was what I'd be using to decide whether one would go to Heaven or Hell. I clicked on "Heaven." The program asked if I was sure, and that the action was irreversible. I clicked "No" and finished off with my unpacking and ran downstairs to watch some TV.
Before doing so, I tried to text Omar the good news. But, unfortunately, my messaging came up with a "You can't talk about that" message. I fully realized. I could send people to Heaven or Hell using an app on my new Apple Watch, and I was not to share any information about my encounter with God, Satan, or the conversation about being "The Decision Maker."
Boy, isn't today eventful.
