🙃Apologies for the late update, I've been getting some laundry and homework done before the start of the final week before Spring Break. I should be able to get maybe two or three new chapters during the Break so stay tuned. 🥰

I immediately interviewed all of the staff in the mansion. Going through cooks, tailors, vendors, everyone that had any verbal communication with my mate. Sarah. Not Brenna. Only the other three Quadrant Alphas, the Alpha Supreme, Charles, Doctor Calise, and I know of who she truly is. My fellow Alphas, and my uncle, agreed to do whatever possible to assist in finding her. Before the Pride does.

The last interviews I did together, the three maids that were in contact with her the most leading up to her kidnapping. Time is of the essence, Keres's threat made no mention of knowing Sarah's true identity. But it is only a matter of time until he does.

The three maids assigned to Sarah come in just as I finish organizing a tall stack of folders. Two of them blond, one with blue eyes and the other green, with the freckled redheaded one scurrying in on behind them. "Ah, there you all are," I begin, eyeing their fingers nervously entwined, their necks exposed just enough to show their submission to me, their Alpha. "I shall be frank, I expect nothing but the entirety of what you know and observed of Luna Sarah in the three days before her abduction."

With hesitant eyes, the blond blue eyed one mutters out an answer. Her gaze wary, eyes glassy with pleasing tears, lips trembling as she speaks. "The Luna was sharper with all of us, making more orders with greater sternness than she usually does," the girls says, fingers playing with the lace hem of her maid's apron. "And her stutter was gone. It shocked me so, that I, that we, were afraid to tell you."

"What! You what!" I shouted, slamming a fist so hard into the new desk that a crack appeared right down the middle. "How dare you keep something so important as this from me! Do you realize what you've done!"

I lunge forward, grabbing the blue eyed maid by the throat and hauling her up off the floor with one hand. Squeezing, tightening, her eyes bulging, mouth open like a fish gasping for the calming touch of water. "You best tell me what else you know, to atone for your mistake, and that of your friends," I sneer, loosening my hold just enough for her to breath, if barely. "What did your Luna say without her stutter?"

"Only...that...she wanted the flowers," the girl gasps, the other two maid looking on in horror at her dangling like a limp little rag doll in my hold. "Arranged for...for your broadcast...and for us...to leave her alone...the day of the...attack."

I look up at the little wolf maid. The foolish, sweet, stupid maid that did not do as she was supposed to. I had ordered all three of them, having the same order listed in their contracts, to report everything about my mate to me. What she likes. What she wears. What she eats. What she drinks. Everything. Every word. Every little expression on her face reported back to me in heavy detail.

But I see that Sarah's, that Brenna's punishment made them forget who they really work for. I see that now. I see that I will need better, tougher, more submissive maids to be put in charge of my mate's safety, wellbeing, and care.

I don't blink or say a word before snapping the blue eyed maid's neck. Nor with the redhead and the second blond. I don't break a sweat in grabbing them both, no matter how much they claw and bite at my fingers. Like feral cats trying to break out of a rucksack. They die just as quick as their fellow maid.

And I feel nothing as they fall to the ground. All three of them still and silent as fine China dolls.
