Chapter 10 : Departure

In the evening, Xu Tianci prepares a delicious fish head stew with tofu. As Wei Xiao smells the fish, she suddenly thinks of Jiaozi. It's been a long time since she last saw it. Xu Tianci introduces, "Our family chose this house for my parents' retirement. It's a single-story to make climbing stairs easier in the future. It's not very large, but the yard is spacious. My dad loves it, he plans to grow flowers, vegetables, and even dig a small fish pond for water lilies."

Wei Xiao, who has visited twice, adds, "Although it's not as big as Yihuan's place, it's around a hundred square meters, enough for two or three people. The design focuses on convenience and a close connection with nature."

Everyone walks inside, and the house is quiet. Xu Tianci's dad surveys the furniture placements while his mom prepares some snacks in the kitchen.

Hearing the commotion, Xu Tianci's mom peeks out from the kitchen, smiling warmly. "You all are here! Come to the living room and have a seat."

It's Wei Xiao's first time meeting Xu Tianci's mom. She is petite, with short hair, looking remarkably young and not at all like a woman in her forties.

"Okay, I'll email them to you later," Wei Xiao thinks, wondering if those phone numbers Han Yihuan gave would even work.

After a stroll, Xu Tianci brings out the BBQ stove and table from the house. The ingredients are ready, they just need to start the fire. Feeling a bit bored, Shi Yuquan says, "I'll go for a walk outside, be back in a while."
