Irie was transported in a carriage through the Lavin Kingdom for many days and nights until they finally reached one of the larger towns of Wiseo. "Climb down," a man said, opening her door. She had been on her own inside as others refused to take the carriage with her. The heavily armored man tilted his head seeing her hesitate to step out. "...What are you more like a cat pst psst" He chuckled as Irie took a deep breath stepping down. "I am Irie, I come to speak with you people to unite the kingdoms and bring peace," She said as the guy smirked. "Aha, roar." He said softly, pushing her forward to the large estate. "And your name is what?" Irie said, looking over at him. "Marquise Russell, I'm also commander of our army here in the Lavin Kingdom." He said, patting his sword at his side.
"They sent me here to wed you?" Irie asked, furrowing her brows. He chuckled, shaking his head. "No, you wouldn't be that lucky. By decree of our king you are to wed Marquise Moore, He's in charge of the foreign affairs," He replied as maids opened the door and they walked across to the garden area. "Please call the Marquise to meet us in the back." He said as the maids bowed and Irie looked around the area. "Is he at least more tolerable than you?" She asked as he rolled his eyes. "I see why no one would enter your carriage," He said as Irie crossed her arms.
A man with glasses came walking quickly, almost not seeing Irie, "...What is this?" He asked, take notice of her. "I brought you a gift from the king," Marquise Russell said, patting Marquise Moore's back. "...Easton, enough. I was told the king was sending me a beast, you know for security measures like a wolf or hydra of some sort not... a woman," He said, glancing over at Irie. "That is a beast, one that you can wed." Marquise Russell replied pointing at her as Marquise Moore looked at her. "...a demon?" He asked, confused. "No, no even better. Why don't you show him," Marquise Russell said as Irie took a few steps into the clear area in the garden and removed her dress.
Marquise Moore's eyes widened as Marquise Russell's eyes looked with anticipation. "What is this-" Marquise Moore said as Irie began transforming leaving him speechless. "A beast' Marquise Russell's said, chuckling. "Is this even legal?! It's the same as being with an animal" Marquise Moore said, pulling Marquise Russell back. "It's the king's decree, so congratulations. I'll be back in a few days for the wedding. Have fun will you" He said, giving Irie one more look and waving at her.
Irie changed back, getting dressed as Marquise Moore looked down with his hand on his head. "What... What is your name dragon?" He asked, finally looking up at her. "Irie, I was sent to represent and speak for the peace of the two kingdoms," She said as he sighed. "Aha, okay... follow me," he said walking back into the estate and calling the maids. He sent a few to prepare her room and others to find dresses that would suit her. The last group was assigned to bathe her. She sat in the bath as the ladies brushed her hair and bathed her cautiously. After she was dressed Marquise Moore met her again. "...What should I call you?" She asked, seeing him again. "My name is Henrich... Anyway, this is your room. It's like where your kind would call a cave and that is a bed... or nest," He said as Irie nodded. "I know what they are, thank you" She said as he nodded leaving.
Irie climbed into bed and covered herself with the blankets, she hadn't ever really been too far from Zaila for too long or of those who welcomed her.
She tried to stay in her room as some ladies brought some food to the doorstep. Henrich stood in front of the door seeing the food tray full. "Is she eating?" He asked the maid who came to pick it up. "...Not very much, we don't know if maybe she's hibernating my lord," She said as Henrich furrowed his brow. "Hibernating? The wedding preparations are almost completed, Irie I'm entering" He said turning the handle.
He peeked into the completely dark room and noticed the bundle under the blankets, "Irie, I don't know much about your kind but if your hibernating as the maids suggest I need to know as our wedding is in a few more days," He said sitting at the edge of the bed and softly pulling the blankets off to see her sniffling. "... are you crying?" He asked, confused. Irie wiped her face, "No... not me- I, I'm sorry I'm a little homesick" She said as he awkwardly patted her back. "Sorry, like I said I don't know much of your kind, I was ignorant to think you wouldn't be upset by this arrangement." He said, glancing over at her and she sat up. "No it's okay it's for peace I can do this I'm okay, I'm strong" she said shaking her head patting her cheeks. "You are strong," He said, hugging her and patting her back softly as she rested her head on his shoulder. She took a deep breath feeling calm in his arms.
The day of the wedding came and a few ladies came in early in the morning to prepare her for the wedding. While the hairdresser did her hair she heard the door suddenly open. She felt a sharp object in her back and she lost her breath for a moment. Her vision blurred as a few ladies there screamed in panic. Another ran to call for help as Marquise Russell and Marquise Moore ran in the room. Marquise Russell apprehended the culprit taking them away as Marquise Moore checked on Irie. "Irie! Can you hear me, Stay with me we'll call for a doctor," He said as others left the room and he stayed trying to apply pressure.
Irie took a deep breath as Marquise Moore raised his hand from the wound that had completely banished. His hands remained bloody but there was no sign of an injury as Irie sat up. "Ow... ha-" She said as Marquise Moore stared at her, "...Are you okay?" He asked as she turned to him. "...Yes, sorry your suit is stained," She said, seeing hands dripping on his pants and suit jacket. "No- no, I don't care ...goodness, you scared me" He said taking a deep breath as he tried to stand up but his knees buckled. "Sorry, I should have mentioned it before. I have rapid healing" She said as he nodded, "I see, that's great. That's oh- I'm a little light headed" He said as Irie caught him. "Henrich? Husband?" She said as Marquise Russell came in. "Henrich, I brought a doctor-" He said seeing Irie now holding Marquise Moore. "He's okay, just needs water," She said as they looked at one another. "And your... wound?" He asked. "I'm okay," She answered.
