Third Person POV
Lanling Jin Sect: Koi Tower
Deep within the resplendent Koi Tower, The air was thick with tension as the two young men stood before their father, the golden glow of the tower's interior casting shadows on their faces.
In his deep, resonating voice, Jin Guangyao responded, "Our journey to Jiangnan was necessitated by the request of Xuanyu." His words echoed in the grand hall, bouncing off the ornate walls adorned with intricate carvings of ancient legends.
Jin Guangshan's brows furrowed in irritation, his stern eyes reflecting his discontent. "And what does Xuanyu's mission have to do with your unexpected absence?" he questioned, his voice echoing his impatience.
Jin Zixuan, his usually calm demeanor slightly ruffled, replied, "Zewu-jun, is visiting Sect Leader Wei in Yiling. Xuanyu needed us to gather information without arousing any suspicions."
A look of confusion crossed Jin Guangshan's face. "Zewu-jun? And what connection does Lan XiChen have with Clan Leader Wei?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued.
Jin Guangyao, with his characteristic composed demeanor, replied, "That's exactly what Xuanyu wanted to find out, hence our covert mission to Jiangnan."
Jin Guangshan, his interest now thoroughly aroused, asked, "And what information were you able to gather?"
Jin Zixuan, his voice steady, answered, "There have been rumors circulating in Yiling and Jiangnan about the First Jade of Lan having a lover a month ago.... We were able to confirm that it is indeed Clan Leader Wei."
As an insidious grin curled upon Jin Guangshan's lips, a whirlwind of Machiavellian schemes began to take shape within the depths of his cunning mind.
With calculated precision, he delved into further inquiry, his thoughts racing to exploit the Twin Jades' burgeoning affection for Clan Leader Wei.
Simultaneously, he concocted a plan to amplify the rumors, skillfully manipulating the intricate web of connections within the vast Cultivation World.
Perhaps, he mused, he could even exploit Lan XiChen's involvement to escalate the whispers to new heights of intrigue and fascination.
Yiling Wei Sect: Wei Manor
Wuxian sighed looking at the scenery enveloping the garden while XiChen is telling him something.
The air is filled with the delicate fragrance of blooming flowers, creating an enchanting atmosphere that soothes the soul.
The garden boasts a vibrant tapestry of colors, with flowers of every hue painting the landscape in a mesmerizing display. Shades of red, pink, yellow, and purple mingle harmoniously, creating a visual feast for the eyes. As the sunlight filters through the lush foliage, it casts a gentle glow upon the garden, enhancing its ethereal charm.
Paths wind their way through the garden, inviting exploration and discovery. The ground beneath their feet is adorned with a soft carpet of emerald-green grass, providing a refreshing contrast to the vibrant blooms. Along the pathways, delicate butterflies flit from flower to flower, adding a touch of whimsy to the scene.
Tall trees stand tall, their branches reaching towards the sky, providing shade and a sense of tranquility. The sound of leaves rustling in the breeze creates a soothing melody, as if nature itself is whispering secrets to those who listen.
Stone benches are strategically placed throughout the garden, offering a serene spot for contemplation and conversation.
Wuxian brows arched something got his attention, he crosses his arms and stares at XiChen and with a hint of disappointment in his voice, Wei Wuxian questioned Lan XiChen, "So, now it's because of you...you didn't trust him enough?" His eyes filled with concern, reflecting his genuine worry for his friend.
Lan XiChen gently shook his head, his expression filled with remorse. "No, it's not that...I do trust him with all my heart," he replied, his voice tinged with sadness. He understood the weight of his actions and the consequences they had on his relationship.
Perplexed, Wei Wuxian pressed further, "Then what? Why did you let your anger and jealousy cloud your judgment? Where's the trust in that?" His disbelief was evident, as he struggled to comprehend XiChen's actions.
"You know that trust is the foundation of every relationship. In the first place..if you can't trust your lover, then perhaps it's better to let him go.... Just canceled your engagement then?" Wei Wuxian added, his disappointment palpable as he addressed the first Jade for hurting his cousin.
Lan XiChen shook his head, his gaze downcast. "I can't let him go, A-xu. I love him too much," he confessed, his voice filled with a mix of vulnerability and determination.
Wei Wuxian's disappointment hung heavy in the air, turning away from Lan XiChen. His voice carried a tinge of frustration as he spoke, his words laced with the weight of his own experiences and wisdom.
"Love alone is not enough, XiChen. Trust and understanding are equally vital in any relationship. You need to find a way to rebuild that trust and mend the wounds you've caused," Wuxian stated earnestly, his eyes reflecting a depth of concern for his friend.
XiChen listened intently, his heart filled with gratitude for the presence of his mischievous cultivator, who had been his unwavering savior and constant pillar of support.
It was Wei Wuxian who had played a pivotal role in bringing XiChen and his beloved together, and for that, XiChen held an immeasurable debt of gratitude towards him.
A surge of gratitude welled within Lan XiChen's heart as he gazed at Wei Wuxian. "You're absolutely right, A-xu. I need to take responsibility for my actions and make amends. I must prove to him that my love is unwavering and that I am committed to regaining his trust," XiChen affirmed, determination shining in his eyes.
Wei Wuxian nodded, his expression softened with a glimmer of hope. "Remember, actions speak louder than words, XiChen. Show him through your deeds that you are truly remorseful and willing to change. Be patient and understanding, and give him the space he needs to heal. Trust is fragile, but with time and effort, it can be rebuilt," Wuxian advised, sharing the wisdom he had acquired through his own journey.
XiChen absorbed every word, his gratitude for Wei Wuxian's guidance swelling within him. "Thank you, A-xu. Your support and advice mean the world to me. I will do everything in my power to mend the bond between us," XiChen vowed, his voice filled with determination.
As Wei Wuxian's patience wore thin, his gaze hardened, no longer willing to tolerate the use of that nickname. "And I implore you to cease referring to me as A-xu!" he demanded, his irritation palpable.
Unable to contain his amusement, XiChen chuckled warmly, his voice filled with gratitude. "I want to thank you, A-xu, for stepping into my brother's life. You have brought immeasurable happiness to him, and for that, I am eternally grateful. Your presence has brightened our lives in ways we never thought possible," XiChen expressed, his words carrying a profound sincerity and love.
Wuxian's glare intensified, his frustration evident. "A-huan, if you continue addressing me with that nickname, you might as well just leave!" he exclaimed, pointing towards the path that led back to the entrance of the sect.
XiChen chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "Okay, okay, I understand. There's no need to get so worked up about it," he playfully responded.
With each passing moment, their bond grew stronger, and XiChen felt a renewed sense of hope that he could mend his relationship with his A-Cheng, guided by the wisdom and care of his cherished friend, Wei Wuxian.
