We have been here at this hotel for since Monday. It is now Wednesday the 27th. The day of my appointment.
The time reads 10 a.m. I work on my school work on my laptop waiting for my day to end, which should very soon and I am almost done with my 4th period class work. Once I finish 4th period class work I will receive a school email letting me know what homework I might have over Thanksgiving break. Hopefully there won't be any.
I sit in the rolling chair, at the desk, to left of the couch typing away, filling out my math worksheet. I hear the bed creak from the bedroom area indicating Zander must be up. My thoughts are confirmed as I see him exit the room, in only his underwear and sweat pants, and walk in the bathroom. When he is done in there he walks out making his way into the living room, taking a seat on the far left end of the couch, right next to me.
"Good morning." I say to him as I take a sip of the coffee that I brewed this morning.
"Morning." He says yawning. "You look stunning."
"Thank you." I say feeling my cheeks warm. I don't look like anything special. My long dark brown, wavy hair lays over my shoulders and mid-way down my back. I don't wear makeup. I have on black leggings and light pink, v-neck, plain shirt with a white tank top on under it and a light pink bra, along with my white tennis shoe adidas on. Nothing special.
I look over at his left arm, that rests on the arm of the couch. I look down at his tattoos that damn near cover his whole arm. I realize that I have not seen him get a new tattoo since I turned 12. I hear a snap of fingers pulling me from my thoughts. "Yo you good?" He asks as I look up at him, his eyes brows furrowed.
"Yeah sorry, I was just thinking." I say setting my coffee back down to answer the next question on my math sheet.
"Wassup?" He asks.
"Nothing, I was just looking at your tats, and realized it had been over a year since you last got one, coming up on two years in about 3 more months." I say as I type.
"How do you even know that?" He asks looking at my face, smiling slightly.
I glance at him and smile a little myself. "I pay attention to you." I say quietly.
"That's crazy." He says looking at his arm smiling harder. "Bet you don't know how many I got though."
"On that one arm, or all of them together, including the ones on the right side of your neck?" I ask smiling again.
"Yo what the fuck." He says laughing slightly.
"You have 21 on your left arm, 5 on your right arm, and technically 2 on your neck, but they are so close together that most people probably think it's just one." I say confidently, taking another sip of my coffee.
"You just made my dick hard." He says, standing up adjusting himself. As soon as those words left his mouth though I almost spit my coffee back out from laughing. I eventually swallow the hot coffee and burst out laughing normally.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I ask laughing.
"What the hell wrong with you doing this to me?" He asks jokingly also laughing.
We hear a knock at the door and he walks over there looking out of the peephole. He opens the door when he sees who it is and lets Keenan and Jahmir in.
"Yo wassup with y'all." He says as they enter.
"Nothing much man, we picked up some biscuits for breakfast, brought y'all some back." Keenan says.
"Oh shit. 'Preciate bruh." Zander says taking the bag pulling one out as he walks over to me handing me one.
"Thank you." I say, not looking at him. I am focused on trying to complete this sheet so I can be done.
