TILLY"Where did you go last night?" I freeze at the question Amelia asks as soon as she and the rest of my friends enter the apartment.
I got back a little while ago since the evil maniac and his brother and cousin busted up in there like they owned the place and made us leave. To say I was pissed is putting it lightly. I was enjoying my morning, still in a sort of blissful state after spending an alright night by the pond and getting finger fucked in a speeding car by said maniac until Lance stormed in and dragged Hazel out and started arguing with her outside of the coffee shop.
"Glad you all are finally back, I was starting to get worried." I stand up from the leather couch and meet them in the small kitchen. Our apartment, the one I share with my brother and Amelia, isn't as spacious as I would like, but it's liveable. With a living area, kitchen, a small laundry room, three bedrooms, and two baths which one is in Tates room and it's smaller than the hall one but he figured he needed his own and not be over powered by girls so we didn't care.
"Don't change the subject Til." Anastasia peeks at me from behind the refrigerator door as she grabs some orange juice and a glass from the cabinet. "If it's got something to do with the Ledger a-holes barging in on our lazy Sunday, we have a right to know."
I drop my hands to my lap, fidgeting with the skin around my fingers as I try and think of a quick excuse to what I was doing last night. I just can't blurt out, "Lexington drove me around in circles, then took me to Star Gaze, and I forgot all about how he kinda sorta finger banged me against my protests and he stole my first orgasm but I'm just as mental as he is because I actually liked it." No, thank you. I rather lie myself out of this one than to admit all that out loud. So I settle for "I just walked around campus."
I hope they buy it because let's face it, I can't lie for shit and they all know it. Evangeline narrows her eyes at me and looks me up and down, and I try not to shift in the stool.
"Why are you turning red, Tilly?"
"It's hot in here." I shrug, and she keeps her eyes on me so I swiftly change the subject. "Where's Hazel? She didn't come back with you?"
"She left with Lance, and she texted me when he dropped her off at her dorm." Millie hikes a hand on her hip, "Don't try and change the subject Til, we want the truth, not some excuse."
I chew on the inside of my cheek, then realze they're all watching me. Shit.
"I really went for a walk." It's not a complete lie. Once Lexington dropped me off, I waited until his car was out of sight and took a walk to clear my head. Hopefully, I sound convincing enough for them to drop it.
"You sure?" Evangeline stare is still scrusinatizing, but I quickly nod.
"You left just as the fight started getting good. Lincoln fought one of Haydens buddies and won. Swooped the floor with him."
I could care less about Lincoln, I shouldn't have gone anyway since I've always hated violence. Thanks to mother dearest for that, but in all honesty, I couldn't watch him get bloody and hurt, and that thought scared me, so I did what I do best and ran.
"Too bad Lexington wasn't there to witness it. The crowd was going bat shit over the whole night."
My heart drops as I remember the way Hayden got a sneak hit on Lexington. His bloody nose and split lip come to mind, and I fish out my phone to text him but realize I don't have his number.
I glance up at the commotion and see Nate poking a pissed off Tate as he carries two bags of food while Nate carries a case of beer in his and I look behind them and see Lincoln scowling at them both.
