The Malefactor's End

Doug and Zach rushed over to help the family out of the water as the General's men arrived assisting to take down Segura's men.

"What about Segura?" Zach asked pulling Keira up to her feet.

"I don't think he'll be getting far." Theo said.

There was the sound of a large crack and then black smoke started bellowing out from the boat. The boat wasn't going anywhere. Theo cheered happily.

"I did it!" he said. "I actually did it!"

"Good job." Owen said clapping him on the shoulder.

Yin stepped onto the boat as Segura ran out onto the deck of the boat. He froze when he saw the dinosaur closing in on him.

"I am a president!" he hollered to them.

"No, you're a pain the ass!" Keira said.

"Theo!" Segura called to him.

"Sorry President Segura, no deal."

Yin hopped on him bringing him to the ground with a thud. The man screamed and squirmed to get away.

"Are you going to call her off?" General Driggers asked.

"Even if we tried, I don't think Yin is up for orders right now." Owen said. Yin bit into the man's arm. Keira covered Theo's ears as the man wailed.

Yin rose her head and looked over in the direction while the other raptors did the same.

"I think they're looking to you." Owen nudged Keira.

"No, " Keira shook her head, "they're looking to their leader."

The group turned to see Blue limp out of the wooded area with Yang following her closely behind. She staggered a bit but stopped as she reached Keira and Owen. Blue screeched in front of them.

"It's good to see you too. Glad you're feeling better." Keira mumbled at the deadly smell of Blue's breath.

Blue continued on.

"You really ought to feeding them a mint once in awhile." Keira whispered to Owen. He gave a small smile before pulling his family in close.

Blue looked mighty powerful in those moments despite her injured leg, the other raptors allowed her to pass through them cowering back.

Segura punched at the raptor's foot that had him pinned down.

"Getofferme!"

The raptor snapped in it's face because there was another call. The raptor looked down at him before stepping off. 

Segura sat up quickly ignoring the burning pain from the bite marks.

"You worthless animals-"

There was a loud thud on the boat's deck. He turned to see a much larger and blue raptor standing before him. There was a shirt tied around it's leg and it's eyes were fixed on him. He pushed himself back. The raptor lowered it's head down to his eye level so that they were only inches apart. It slowly exposed it's teeth to him.

But as he stared at the dinosaur he felt a rip through his stomach. His breath got caught in his throat as he peered down to see one of the bloody claws pull back.

"What are they doing?" Theo asked as they watched the scene unfold.

"It's like what my dad told that kid all those years ago...you are alive when they start to eat you."

Blue let out the final call and all the raptors moved in.

"No, no...NOOOOOO!"

The group stood there for a moment. "I told him." Keira sighed. "It was going to end this way with him being raptor droppings."

"They never listen do they?" Owen said. They all looked to General Driggers.

"What do we do now?" they asked him.

He stood there looking at the raptors feeding. "I...I'm not sure. This isn't exactly in the handbook." he said. "I'll have to make a few calls."

"I know this is probably a bad time," Doug began.

"Oh good lord." Keira huffed.

"....but I'm starving." he said.

Keira and the others chuckled. "I am too." she admitted. 

The General just look at the group. How could anyone be joking at a time like this?

"Sorry General, we've seen a lot of stuff on this island, a lot of this just doesn't phase us anymore." Owen told him.

"I guess I can't blame you all then. I've just never witnessed anything like this before."

"You should have been here for the other few times." Owen said. "You would have shit your pants."

Keira smiled as the general grimaced but she furrowed her brows as something was bothering her at the back of her mind.

"Oh damn, Athena!" she took off.

"Athena?" Driggers asked.

"Our dog." Theo said.

Keira ran up the stairs of the Bungalow to hear barking. She opened the door to find Athena trying to move around. She knelt down.

"Hey..." she said softly approaching her. "It's okay. Everything is okay. Finally."

"Oh it's good to hear that."

She turned around to see Barry in the doorway.

"Barry!" she said jumping up. He was holding a rag to his head. "What happened to you?"

"I was heading home when these men stopped the vehicle..bashed me in the head." he removed the rag so she could see the gash.

"Yikes, come in here and let me clean that up."

He sat down.

"So did I miss the finale?" he asked.

"Afraid so. Although, you were present for Reggie so you didn't miss much."

"I should have just retired." he chuckled.

"But we'd miss you too much. You should have seen the raptors Barry, it was amazing."
