1. Friends forever.

“Oh c’mon Kynlee, wake up now or we both are late to school”, “Darling, did you forget it's the first day of your freshman year?”....
“Mom, El, please let me sleep 5 more minutes .....hmm....
WAIT, Freshers? First day?School? And El? FUCK! I totally forgot it's the first day of our high school” I shouted as I got out of my bed. “Why didn’t you wake me up early? Mom!!!”
“I tried honey but you weren’t waking up so i called Elvie” said my mother, Mrs. Smith, while she made breakfast for me.
“Would you like some, Elvie?” My mom asked El aka Elvie gray, my childhood bff. “No thank you Mrs. Smith, I had my breakfast at home” El said with a big bright smile on her face.
“Ugh, where is my t-rex dinosaur shirt? Mom, where did you put it?” I yelled as I rummaged through the laundry. "It’s right there, honey. Would you mind if I find it for you? Till then eat the breakfast"
"Yes please, i would love that, AHHH, this is a total mess!!!!!"
Hello, I am Kynlee Smith, a 16 years old girl with lots of dreams. Due to my family issues, my mother, sister and I live separately from my family and relatives. My past experiences resulted in my introverted, rude and shy behaviour. I isolated myself from others at a young age in fear of being abandoned in the end.
Once in 4th grade, I was sitting all by myself at lunch as always when a girl approached me. Shockingly it was the new girl, Elvie gray.
“Aren’t you feeling lonely sitting all by yourself?” said the new girl, “ Would you like to come and join me? I am kinda new here and don’t have many friends…Maybe you can help me.” A bright smile flashed at me as my little dark world came to an end. That’s how me and Elvie became best friends. As time passed, we got to know each other more and more and started to share a special bond. It was also known that me and Elvie both were huge kpop fans and loved horror. Both shared the same sense of humour, similar interests and hatred towards the same things. This made our bond more stronger.
“I hate how things are going till now” :’( a heavy sigh could be heard by my friend. “It was your fault, how could you even forget the first day of our school, you idiot” said El.“Geez, I'm sorry, okay? I just loooovvveee to sleep, it’s heaven and peace” I said as I opened my arms and hugged the air. “Honestly, Me too, I mean who can resist sleep? Probably not us”, “Heh, I know, that’s why we are friends ....Friends Forever!" I exclaimed as I embraced my best friend.
“Okay okay, i get it, now get off me, haha".“Finally, we reached!!!!YAYYY!!!” shouted El in excitement, “Gotta part our ways here. See ya later girl”
“See you too, byee”
Both bid our goodbyes and continued on our respective paths. “29 Science…29, 29, yep, here, phew…here goes nothing.”
I entered my classroom, 29 science. I was nervous about my first impression on others because in the end it matters a lot to me. The whole classroom fell to silence which made it even more awkward for me to enter. “Looks like all the front seats are occupied, I should probably go to the back.” As I sat on the 3rd last bench of the last row a girl burst into
laughter. Unaware of her presence, my heart skiped a beat. “OMG!! WTF WAS THAT!?!?!? I almost had a heart attack” , I spoke to myself as I turned my head towards my left to look for the figure.
A girl with short brunette hair was sitting beside me. I thought it would be a great idea to befriend some people from my class as El cannot always be with me. I was really anxious because I had never interacted with people around my age except El.
"I keep overthinking, I miss El", I thought to myself.
Time passed by, first lecture was done, even second was done but I just couldn't gather myself to talk to the girl beside me who was now sitting quietly. Eventually, lunch break came and I rushed out of my class to meet El. I saw El talking to a group of people so I slowed down and patiently waited for her there.
El's attention got caught by my presence and she came up to me, "Hey, did I make you wait for a long time? Sorry for that" she said, "why didn't you come and join us? We could have had a great conversation plus, you could have made some new friends…"
"No, I just got here. Wait, how'd you know that I didn't make any new friends here? Were you stalking me?" I asked as I gave a side eye to my childhood friend since 4th grade.
"Oh c’mon kynlee, isn't it obvious? I know you for so many years now, i know you won't be able to make friends that easily, but it's okay, take your time" said El, "Even if you make no friends, i'll always be your bff♡" El made a finger heart at me which made me somewhat happy, "Thanku El, i'll always be your friend too." I hugged El, "only friend? Not bff, what a shame I was considering you my bff, aww." El pouted at me, "Yes yes, you are my bff. Best friend Forever. Let's go to the cafe later, I loved the cheesecake we had last time there."
"Okay, let's do that then." El agreed.
Later at the cafe, as El and me were talking we saw my favourite cheesecake, the only slice left. "OMG!!!! CHEESECAKE!!!! MY FAV- OR- ITE….Ohhh…."
