Chapter 11

"Caw, Caw!" The sound of (Y/N)'s crow caught her attention, she looked up as the bird swooped down and landed on a nearby treebranch. The young woman stopped in her tracks, looking up at her companion, letting out a slightly annoyed sigh.

"Let me guess another mission" she mumbled under her breath.

"Caw, caw! Head north, a demon has been spotted there." The bird announced.

"Caw, caw! Head north" the crow began to repeat loudly.

"Ok, ok. I hear you" (Y/N) finally replied, and with that, the crow flew off and the young woman followed after it.

A day and a half had passed since (Y/N) had been given her new mission. As she kept heading north, the young woman found herself in a quaint village. There were children running around and the atmosphere was cheery. It worried her that there was a demon lurking somewhere around her.

"Oh, a new face, we haven't had visitors in such a long time" a woman's voice suddenly caught her attention. (Y/N) Turned her head to see a very pretty woman standing there smiling at her.

"My name is Hikari, you must have traveled for a while to get here." The woman continued.

"Oh, my name is (Y/N), it's nice to meet you" the demon slayer bowed politely.

"It's nice to meet you (Y/N), if you need a place to rest, there's an inn nearby" the woman told her, pointing to a nearby building.

"Thank you so much" (Y/N) smiled kindly at the woman.

"Hikari, who is this" another woman suddenly approached. She was older, yet seemed sweet.

"Oh, madam. This is (Y/N). She's a traveler" Hikari introduced the demon slayer.

"I told you, just call me by my first name" the other woman replied before trying to the demon slayer. When she did, (Y/N) felt a shiver go up her spine. There was something about the look in the older woman's eyes that didn't sit right with her.

"Welcome to our village (Y/N), you can call me Yuki" the older woman's voice snapped (Y/N) out of her thoughts.

"Thank you, I'm going to head to an inn and get some rest" she told the pair before walking away. But as she did, she couldn't ignore the feeling of someone watching her. It was like someone was staring into her soul. She did her best not to acknowledge it. She finally made her way inside of the inn, the feeling of being watched disappearing as soon as she did. After checking in, (Y/N) made her way to her room, letting out a sight of relief as she did. Changing out of her Demon Slayer uniform, (Y/N) laid down and fell asleep.
