I opened my eyes the next morning to find icy-blue ones staring directly at me. I was startled at first, but smiled as I recognized them to be Chepi's. When we were younger, me and Chepi had been really close and she basically looked up to me as an older sister. She would always come in every morning to wake me up and we would talk for awhile until the rest of the pack was up. Sadly as I grew older it got harder to spend as much time together, but we're still fairly close... as you could tell.
I grinned as I saw a playful expression cross her face, and threw the blanket over her head. She threw it off and attempted tackling me, but fell as I had already gotten up. I smiled as she started to whine and sat back down next to her.
"Sooo, you have quite a bit to tell me about," she said matter-of-fact like.
I glanced at the clock to check the time, and was surprised to see that it was only six in the morning.
I groaned, "But Chep, it's so earlyyy. I was up really late."
"I know. It's hard to sleep when you hear the Beta howling around two am."
"Oh, yeah... about that- may or may not have been my fault."
"I had a feeling," she said blankly.
"Feisty are we?"
"Shhh, just give me details."
I went on to tell her all about meeting Synyster, and the pull I felt last night, and even mentioned the wolf that happened to show up. I wasn't fully sure how much I wanted people to know about that yet, but figured it wouldn't hurt to tell her. Even though she's only fourteen, she's actually quite mature and wouldn't tell anyone without my permission. I liked that I was still able to rely on her.
After I finished explaining, we talked for a bit until I heard a knock at the door indicating it was time to get up. I could still tell it was Iza by his faint scent, and snickered to myself as I remembered last time. It wasn't a huge deal that he had seen my girly bits (yes I said girly bits), but since he was younger I knew he probably found it to be awkward. Not that he was much younger, but yeah. Chepi gave me a confused look, and I waved her off as I told her I would explain later.
"Fineee," she said in a dramatic tone, and walked back to her room.
I rolled my eyes and walked over to the window. It was still kind of mucky outside from the rain, but I usually liked that. I got ready pretty quickly and headed downstairs for breakfast, but just as I was about to take a seat someone pulled me to the side and I jumped.
"Daren? Oh no... okay it was a one time thing I promise," I said pointlessly defending myself.
"You seem jumpy," he said.
"I'm still waking up so yeah, maybe a bit."
"You sure?"
"Yeah..."
"Okay. Well I just wanted to ask you a few things if you don't mind."
"Are they about last night?" I asked anxiously.
"Sort of. You aren't in trouble if that's your worry. I decided you seemed fine, and I know it's unlikely for you to usually disobey the alpha's orders so it's between us for now. But I would like to know if you saw anything."
My eyes widened a bit as I thought about the wolf. "Define anything..."
"So you did?"
"Didn't say that, but yes... ish. Maybe. Why?
"What did you see?"
"Nothing dangerous."
"Zakayaa this could be-"
Cutting him off a bit I decided to ask, "Can I please talk to Synyster first?"
I wasn't sure why I was defending the wolf so much, but something told me I should talk to Sin first.
"Who's Synyster?" Daren asked bringing my attention back.
"My mate," I replied simply.
As soon as the word was out of my mouth, I noticed his eyes start to glow a bit and had to keep myself from taking a step back. Instinctively I dropped my gaze, and he seemed to shake off whatever that was, but it was still strange...
"You okay?" I asked cautiously.
"Yes, I'm fine. Just talk to whoever, and then report back to me I guess. See you later Zak."
With that he walked back to the kitchen, and didn't say anything else. I was sort of confused by Daren's behavior, but it probably wasn't anything to worry about. Figuring that he was just on edge for some reason I grabbed my stuff and left for school.

It was a very long and boring day at school so far, and I actually considered leaving. I kept an eye out for Synyster, but he didn't seem to be here at all. Usually I felt an odd tingling sensation when he was in my presence... even if he wasn't in the same room, but I didn't feel that today. Deciding that maybe it was something going on with the pack, I tried my best to let it go and decided I would just stop by his place after school.
I got through the day with very few problems (besides boredom of course), and started to make my way outside when I felt someone nudge me from behind. The contact made my skin crawl indicating it was another werewolf. I growled low as I looked ahead, but stopped abruptly as my eyes clashed with the same amber ones from last night.
"What are you doing here?" I asked with slight surprise.
He seemed to shift awkwardly. "Synyster sent me to come get you. Well sort of... I remembered you from the other day, I offered, he agreed, and here I am."
"Okay... and who are you? If you don't mind me asking that is."
"My name is Atreyu. I'm beta of the Eastern Wood's Pack."
"Oh, and does Sin know about you're late night adventures?"
"Does he know about yours?" Atreyu replied.
"Why would he? It's on our territory, and you showed up. What is your interest in me anyways?"
His eyes started to faintly glow, and I decided it would be best to drop the subject. I couldn't help but notice how touchy males were being around me today.
"Let's just go," I finally said and started walking in the direction of the mansion.
