Chapter 6 - Not today

It was supposed to be an amazing day. Of course, my health had other plans, and my luck has never been much. We were supposed to meet my dad's friend today and spend the journey together. The worst part was that my dad was over the moon for me to meet his friend again, I felt like I ruined his day more than mine.

I got some bug because of the food we got last night, so my stomach was in a complete revolution. Taking my mood, my day and my sanity to a whole new level. I had a really strong stomachache and had thrown my body weight up so far. You can imagine I looked like at least 4 trucks runned on me, so it was not a good day to meet anyone.

My dad wanted to stay with me, but he couldn't do anything to make me feel better. So I kicked him out of the room and forced him to meet his friend anyway. Of course, it wasn't easy to persuade him. My mom had to get in the middle of our debate because we'd be all day just trying to get our point across.

After my dad left the hotel, I texted my best friend Camila. We've been friends since primary school, and she's the one I speak the most with after we finished school.

After texting with Cam, I took a nap hoping I'd feel better waking up later. It did work, I was feeling good, so I went downstairs with my mom to the pool. After a while, we decided to go and walk around the streets near the hotel.

At some point, my dad called to ask if we wanted to have dinner at his friend's place. I wasn't feeling great again, so I told my parents they could go and I'd just stay at the room having a movie night with myself, not wanting to ruin their night.

"Lewis! So good to see you again."- Silvia greeted her husband's friend.

"Sil! See you still having to deal with my dear friend here."- Lewis didn't miss the chance to tease his friend.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Don't start, I have enough with my own daughter teasing me all the time. No need to have another person for that."- David said while hugging his friend.

"How's she? I hoped to meet her tonight."

"She's dealing with stomachache. Nothing really serious, but if she told us, it probably really hurted. Usually, she'll wait till she can't handle it anymore to tell us."- Silvia explained.

"Oh, I really hope she feels better tomorrow. Keep me updated, Dave."

"Sure, mate. It's just some food bug, it's okay, really."

"Our official family reunion has to wait a bit longer Lewis, sorry about that. I can tell David wasn't lying, saying you were really excited." 

"Well, about that. I got an idea, hope you both are okay with it."- David said while looking for his wife's reaction since it had only occurred a few minutes ago.

"It can either be an amazing idea or something completely wild. I'm intrigued."- Silvia laughed at the look she got from her husband after she said that.

"Lewis told me he has some free days before the start of February. We've got a week before then, if you don't have plans you could come to Argentina with us, mate. We could get our reunion and spend some days at home altogether." 

"We leave in 4 days to come back home. You could join us, David's right."- Silvia added, she really liked the idea to have a guest over and more if it was a dear friend of theirs.

"I'd love that, guys. I have to tell you though, that tomorrow I'm leaving for another town here in the country. I'm staying till Thursday there, so it'd make 5 days to spend in Argentina before I have to go back working."- Lewis was really excited with this new plan they have. It'd be amazing to spend more time with the family and also get to know their new life in the country that was now their home.

"It's done then. You're coming home from the 22nd to the 28th of January, so you have time to get everything sorted before going back to work. You're gonna stay with us, by the way, don't think otherwise. We'll gonna get everything sorted out for you."

"Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to these days at your home. Not sure though if I'm ready to live with you as a roomie for some days, Dave."- Both friends laughed, and after agreeing with the plans, they ordered dinner for the three of them.

The night went well,  the three of them happy with the encounter. They shared some memories they had together, hoping they'd get more in the future. Silvia updated Lewis on her life after his request and David joined her on telling Lewis more about their daughter.

Sarah had a quiet night by herself, dealing with her stomachache, which fortunately was going away. She watched two movies before falling sleep, even before her parents were back from dinner. They entered the room trying not to wake her up and got ready for bed, which Sarah didn't even noticed.
