[A few days later]
Jimin sighed, biting his plumb bottom lip as his sharp nails repeatedly hit the side of his plastic coffee cup.
Yoongi frowned at the sight of his mate distressed as he walked up to him, holding two warm pastries. "Okay, what's bothering you, love?"
"Nothing's wrong, Yoongi." Jimin quickly washed away his former expression as he stuffed his mouth with the warm pastries.
Yoongi ticked up one eyebrow. "Really now?"
"Yeah,"
"Then why won't you look me in the eyes?"
Jimin struggled to stay calm. "I am looking you in the eyes."
"Jimin," Yoongi straightened up, causing the younger to flinch and finally lock eyes with his mate. "I am your mate, do you really think you can hide things from me? I can literally feel your emotions."
Jimin whined, dropping his head onto the smooth high table they were seated at. "You're unbelievable..."
Yoongi chuckled a bit, reaching over to clasp his and Jimin's hands together. "I'm just concerned, love. Now, tell me what's been causing you to look so adrift."
A little silence went by before Jimin spoke in a hushed tone. "Something's up with Jungkookie, babe..."
Yoongi didn't reply, letting his mate speak.
Jimin bit his lip again, staring outside at the cat hybrids strolling around. "He's been acting differently since he's returned. He's more...happy, but also...longing? He was nesting yesterday. I saw his bed when I went into his bedroom yesterday. I thought it was pre-heat but, Jungkook's not known to do that."
A deep sigh left Jimin's lips. "And when I asked Lisa how her time with Jungkook went during those two weeks, she told me Jungkook never stayed with her."
A shocked sound left Yoongi's lips. "What? I didn't know that."
"Me either, I just found out right now." Jimin winced.
"So, Jungkook lied to us then,"
"And that's why I'm so confused," Jimin said in an exasperated tone, flailing his hands around. "Why did he lie to us in the first place?"
Yoongi frowned, pursing his lips. "I don't know, maybe —"
"And did you notice he smells different now? I noticed it immediately after I hugged him when he came back."
"Yeah, so maybe —"
"Just why would he lie to us? When did distrust begin between us?" Jimin whimpered, his cat ears drooping. "Did I do something wrong?"
"Jimin," Yoongi spoke, making his mate glance up at him with a pout. "You know Jungkookie loves us, right?"
A cute little nod came from Jimin.
"Then there's a reason for all of this, we need to trust in Jungkook, okay?" Yoongi said softly.
Jimin nodded, biting his lip again as he reconnected their hands. "What do you think is up, Yoongi?"
Yoongi took a sip from his cold coffee. "I think it's obvious, love. Jungkookie's found his mate."
Jimin's pretty eyes widened. "I think so too! But why do you think he won't tell us —"
