[Author's POV]

"JIMIN!!??!??"

"JUNGKOOK!" Jimin shrieked in pure disbelief.

Everyone in the room hastily stood up, making Jimin hiss at the image of so many Dog hybrids present. Although Jimin was so confused and terrified, he was instantly filled with rage. All he could see was these hybrids holding his best friend hostage, and he didn't hesitate.

Jungkook knew what his friend was going to do, but he wasn't fast enough. "Jimin, no!! Wait —!"

Quick as a flash, Jimin charged forward, scratching Taehyung right in the face, pushing him away from Jungkook. "LEAVE MY FRIEND ALONE, FILTHY SHIT!!"

Jungkook cried out at the sight of blood gushing out of his mate's cheek. "STOP, JIMIN!! STOP!"

Jimin was confused when he felt Jungkook wiggle out of his grasp, kneeling down next to Taehyung while Yoongi grabbed his mate from behind. "Love, you need to back up now."

"What are you doing here, Jungkook??!!? What have you bastards done to him!?!!?" Jimin screeched, glaring at each hybrid although his body shook from fear.

"Jimin, calm down! I'll explain!!" Jungkook wailed, his soft, hurt voice not reaching his best friend's ears as he sniffed, his heart worrying about his mate.

"CALM DOWN?!!? HOW —"

"Everyone, quiet." Namjoon commanded, the authority in his voice making everyone quiet and tense.

Still hissing, Jimin and Yoongi backed near the corner, bodies tense and snarls present while Jungkook helped his mate back up, Taehyung whined from the stinging pain on his cheek, but he knew he deserved it, he could've done better, he knew something like this would happen. Lies and deceit are never good partners to add to your life.

Taehyung softly smiled when Jungkook hastily went and grabbed a wet, warm towel. "Here, make sure you put pressure on it."

"I will, baby, don't worry." Taehyung whispered for only Jungkook's ears to hear. "Explain to your friends what's going on first, okay?"

Jungkook bit his lip, glancing down. "But you're hurt..."

"It's just a scratch, baby. Talk to them." Taehyung encouraged gently, holding the towel to his cheek. "I'm right with you."

Jungkook hesitated, but nodded firmly. As he faced his family, Taehyung gesturing for his hyungs to stand behind him, Jungkook started to slowly talk. "Hyungs..."

It hurt Jungkook to see fear, confusion and mistrust obvious on their faces as they stared at Jungkook with keen, wary eyes. "I...I am so, so sorry it had to be this way. I-I didn't want to hurt you too, and I know I've been acting so selfish, but...c-can you both hear me o-out? Please?"

Jimin's jaw clenched while Yoongi nodded slowly. "Explain, Jungkook. What's going on? Why haven't you been home? Who are all these...people."

Jungkook took a deep breath, not knowing where to start, his eyes trailed off and the second they landed on Taehyung's warm, loving ones, the words appeared.

"I've been lying to you, hyungs."

It cut Jungkook deep to admit this, he hated lying, cheating souls who inflicted pain without thought, but he was the same way, he could've been honest this whole time. How could he act that way to the two males he viewed as family? Why treat them this way when they've done nothing but love him for who he was?
