...Hate and desperate...

Dr. Park Ji-ah might have been younger than a lot of senior scientists. But she was the most feared one. She could not be messed with.

The scientists prayed that she is not selected as the evaluator for them because there were rarely any projects that had a perfect feedback from her. She could find even the barely visible problems and complications. And she especially hated when people tried to use their connections with the higher ups to get her to submit to them. They end up getting even lower in the list of perfection.

Which is exactly what Dr. Kim had done. Dr. Kim was a senior scientist and she respected him. But after today's event, she was beyond annoyed by his behaviour. Him being such a senior scientist and still relying on Dr. Lee just because he is the CEO's son threw her off.

She took a sip of her coffee . She closed her eyes as she savoured the taste in her mouth.

Dr. Lee...

Lee Heesung...

She woke up with a knock on her door.

"Come in. " She wiped her face in hurry and cleared her throat.

"When will you stop interferring, Ji-ah? "

His voice made her look up. She looked at him bewildered.

"I, interferred? I never intervened with 'Eramber'." She shrugged.

"Not with 'Eramber'. You intervened with 'Dendricule'."

"And how does that concern you, Dr. Lee? "

He scoffed.

"Almost everyone is aware of the fact that 'Dendricule' is my project. I made Dr. Kim incharge of this project only for protocols since I am already on project 'Eramber'."

"Exactly. Why not just focus on 'Eramber' since you're delaying both the projects by staying on both of them? Nevermind the amount of money that is being wasted because of the delay."

He stepped closer to her, turned her chair around and bent in front of her. Their faces barely inches apart. He moved his hand closer to her neck. His eyes were showing immense hatered. It was as if one wrong word from her mouth and he would choke her to death.

"Are you perhaps, trying to snatch this project from me? Since you know the details of the project? "

She looked deeply in his eyes. Hatered and anger. The answer to the question was pretty easy. Why would she want that? She doesn't want the project. She is happy with her job. The answer was a simple no.

"What if I am? " As soon as the words left her mouth, she felt his cold fingers wrap around her neck as he gripped her into a chokehold.

"How dare you, Ji-ah! " Her eyes watered and her throat went dry. She smiled as the chokehold almost sucked the life out of her.

His eyes widened as he saw her smile. He let her go, resulting her to cough audibly.

"Have you finally gone insane? " He chuckled bitterly.

She chuckled.

Insane?

No.

Just desperate.

She was just desperate for his touch. So much that she was ready to instigate him just so he could touch her in any way.

"If you're thinking of snatching this project, I'm not letting that happen. Even if I have to use my 'dad' card."

She silently opened the drawer of her desk by the passkey in her laptop.

She took out the small RP and passed it on to him.

(A/n: This story is based in the year 2050 so it will contain a lot of futuristic mentions. RP is retinal projector. Its like a small eye piece which stores information. For veiwing the information, you have to wear it and click on the button on the side. Basically, a visual pen drive. I hope you are able to imagine it like I am able to. This device might or might not exist in real life, its just my imagination.)

"It is the report I made for your project 'Dendricule'. Go ahead."

"You know I am not allowed to view your reports, right? "

"You're not allowed a lot of things, Dr. Lee. "

He sighed and picked up the RP. He wore it and viewed the report.

'It has been a devloupment. The device has been able to read animal thoughts and put it on screen. It is also able to communicate to a possible extent. The project has shown progress and hence I, Dr. Park, suggest to let the project move forward on the correct pace and cancel the demolishing of the project. '

"Demolishing the project? "

She chuckled.

"Didn't you find it strange when they sent 'me' to check up on a project that is unofficially but openly 'yours'?"

Although, nobody knew the reason for it but the rivalry between both of them was quite popular. Hence, never once was she sent to evaluate on any of his projects. Unless...

"Dad? He sent you there? "

"Your dad messaged me yesterday. A personal message to check upon his son's deeds. He is just worried about you. But that doesn't mean he is not worried about his company. Project 'Dendricule' was taking a lot of time and money. The same amout which could be used in another project like 'Eramber'. He wanted me to technically find reasons so he can shut down the project reasonably, without hurting you. And honestly, the project had enough reasons for me to shut it down. But... "

He waited in anticipation.

"I knew how much this meant to you, Sunbae..."

"So I hope you involve Dr. Kim into this as well and give him the amount of responsibility that he should be given. "She continued.

He breathed out shakily. The anger and hatered in his eyes were shortly replaced by a soft look before he broght back his stern face.

"I reacted rashly, Dr. Park... But about Dr. Kim, that is my buisness."

She snickered.

"Seriously! Why would she instigate me on purpose? " He whispered as he walked out.

She chuckled bitterely.

"That's because, whenever you're angry, that is the only time you call me by my name."
