Pic of Brett (AKA Predator) ^^^^^^^
Once Celeste fell asleep, Joey and I headed to the racing spot in my silver Mustang gt. I made sure that I went to these races with a different car than I use to go to school since I don't want anyone to recognize the car and suspected that I'm Intimidator or related to her some how.
The location of the racing spot always changes since it was sure enough to be caught and shut down if it stayed in one area. The only way to find out where it is, is by knowing someone like Randy or a racer. Randy is like a manger. No, he is a manager, but as far as we know, Joey and I are his only clients. He also has a lot connections making him reliable for information about what goes on during the depths of the night.
When we arrived at the abandoned warehouse on the docks, it didn't take long for people to recognize my car and start to cheer with excitement. Of course it was only natural for everyone to crowd us a bit, but most of them would be girls trying to get Joey to sleep with them. I would have a few guys come at me here and there but Joey would scare them away. Honestly, I didn't mind that at all.
"What happen to MVP?" One of the regular girls asked me. MVP (Most Violent Player) is Joey's street name. Just like in school, girls jumped at the chance to talk to him and put their hands all over him. At first, I was fine with it because I'm not gonna lie, Joey is good looking, but to constantly have girls around him like he was some celebrity gets annoying the more it happens. It's hard to hang out with him when he gets like that.
"He was shot." My voice had no emotion as I watched Joey flirt back with all the girls. Her gasp made me steal a glance at her.
"Oh my god, is he ok?"
"No because he's no obviously up and walking around like he's not okay." My voice no longer emotionless as it was dripping with irritation.
"At least I care about him." She shot back. My attention was fully on her as my blood slowly began to boil. I was almost impressed with her boldness to talk back to me, but that quickly went away as I remember who I am and why I can't let this get out of hand.
"Who the fuck are you to say that to me? You don't know him, you don't know me. All you do know is what goes on in the streets and what others have told you. So don't you dare make it sound like you know us unless you want a one way ticket to the fucken hospital." The fucken nerve she has to say that to me like she knew us just ticked me off even more.
Despite her boldness for speaking up, her eyes displayed fear as she stood quiet. It's extremely rare that someone would have the balls to talk back to me and it would sometimes surprise me, but it wouldn't take me long to remind then who they were talking to.
"That's what I thought," I continued when she didn't answer. "Now get out of my sight before I change my mind." She obeyed my command and walked away with her tail between her legs.
"What was that about?" Joey asked as he leaned against my car, his good arm resting on the roof of it.
"No one of important." I answered as I released a breath to relaxed my tensed muscles. Before Joey could question anything else, a guy standing on a black Chevy pick up truck with two big speaker and a microphone in his hand grabbed everyone's attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the race against Jacob and Robert is about to began! Please move your cars and find your seats!" He shouted. I moved my car since it was in the way and Joey picked a spot on the opposite side from where I parked my car.
The race started like any other, with the two drivers making a deal, of course with a third party to witness it, and shaking hands before getting into their cars and starting their engines. Then, the same guy that was in the black pick up truck came between the two cars with a blow horn. He started to counted from from five and once he reached one, he blew the horn and the two cars speed off into the distance. The race is a circle around the area a couple of times, but wasn't too big of a circle so we could still see the cars as they race.
