6. Secret identity (Miles Morales)

Y/N Morales is Miles' older sister. Guess what'll happen if you read the title ;)

I have no idea in what kind of universe this is. I think MCU-ish, but I'm not sure the Spiderverse movies are a part of that.

~Y/N's POV~

My younger brother has been sneaking out a lot lately. He thinks I don't notice, but it's quite obvious. Sometimes he doesn't answer my calls and when he finally does, he has some dumb excuses like 'having homework', during the holidays or 'being with Gwen', when I'd seen her without him in town. I understand if he doesn't want to talk to me about it, but it's freaking me out. Mom and dad haven't noticed, but I don't want to burden them with stuff like that. They're both already stressed enough.

I just came home late from a party with my best friend since my parents were out, when I heard stumbling inside Miles' room. I frowned and knocked on the door. "Miles? You alright in there?"

"Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine! Don't worry 'bout me, sis!" Miles answers from the other side of the door.

"Miles, it's late and you're wide awake. Have you snuck out again?"

"Me? Sneaking out?", he chuckles like it's the craziest thing I've ever said, but I know him too good to figure out it's fake.

"Miles Gonzalo Morales, I'm your sister, don't you dare lie to me. I'm coming in."

I open his door and what I see is anything but what I expected. He is holding Spider-Man's mask in his hand and wearing the suit!

"Okay, what the fuck? You're Spider-Man?"

"Uhm... Surprise?" 

"So, every time you snuck out you were going on life treathening missions?"

"Let me explain, Y/N, please!"

"Alright, you got 2 minutes."

"Okay, so remember when I went out with uncle Aaron after school once? Wait, you don't know that, I snuck out then too, that's true... Anyways, when I snuck out we were in an underground thing where we made a whole graffiti painting, you would've loved it! So, then there was a spider and it bit me. I slapped it off, since I didn't think it was much until I found out I could stick to walls. And then I saw the older Spider-Man die and I decided to replace him. But don't worry, I'm safe, nothing will happen to me, I got spidey-senses and stuff and Gwen joins me."

"Wait, wait, wait, Gwen is that Spider-Woman?"

"Ghost-Spider, actually, but yeah, that's her. She's actually from another universe─"

"Okay, no, it's complicated enough, I do not want to hear about the multiverses and shit", I sit down on his bed, trying to process everything. My brother is fucking Spider-Man and no one told me. "Why not tell me immediately? I was stressing so hard about the fact you were sneaking out! I thought you were doing illegal things!"

"I couldn't risk that you'd tell mom and dad."

"Miles, you're my brother! I would've kept it a secret!"

"I know... I just had to be sure... I'm sorry..."

"It's alright. Just don't ever hide shit like that again."

"I won't."

"And be careful when you're fighting villains."

"I will."

"Good. Now, I'm going to bed, trying to process the whole thing, if that's possible. You're going to call me if I need to cover for you when you need to go on some secret mission or stuff. In the middle of the night or any other time." I stand up and walk to the door. Before I get there Miles hugs me.

"You're the best sister ever, Y/N."

I smile. "I know. You're an awesome brother."
