The Infinite Story Volume 1

8. The Prestige

Reality around them began to shift, transporting them to an entirely different location. Their surroundings morphed into something unfamiliar. Astonishingly, all their wounds had vanished, and they found themselves restored to full health.

"Amazing, this is great!" Jay muttered sarcastically.

Jasha opened his eyes, got up, grabbed his knife, but before he could even get close to stabbing Jay, Blue intervened.

Blue slapped the knife away from Jashas's hands and they started engaging in combat. Jasha tried to punch Blue several times but Blue dodged his at ease not putting any effort whatsoever. Jasha tries to throw another punch but Blue uses the momentum to grab his hand and throw Jasha to the ground next to Sylvia.

Blue blitzed in front of Sylvia and crouched down.

"As for you, I don't want to see even the slightest twitch," he commanded sternly. "Now shall we?"

"Ok, what the FUCK are you trying to do? And ALSO-"

"Jay, watch your language," Ema's eyes widened as she stared into Jay's soul.

"Yes, ma'am," Jay acquiesced, sitting down and crossing his legs. "How did you heal my injuries?"

"Well, that curse stops specific abilities from working within your body, your case being healing abilities. You used Skullk to heal yourself once, you can't do it again. I healed you once, and my reality magic can't do anything about it. Other people like Lora, Amantii, etc., can heal you, but-"

"I get it."

"Yeah, it seems so," Said Lora as she went behind Jay and started rubbing his shoulders.

"Yeah, I only get a 1 time heal from you." Jay smiled.

"Blue," Johan called out.

"Yes?" awnsered Blue turning over at him.

"I heard that you had an interaction with Jay a few days prior..."

"Oh, for fuck sake!"

Jay gets hit by Ema behind the head.

"...yet he says that you didn't mention anything important to him."

"Oh, right, I didn't give him any details on what I needed you guys for."

"So, what is it?" Jenn interjected, her tone tinged with curiosity.

"Our boundless reality, stretched to its limits, teeters on the brink of demise. Like a fading ember or a vanishing dream, it awaits its inevitable end. And I want you guys to reset it!"

"Hmpf." Amantii looked at Blue with disgust. "Why us, though?"

"Well I dont need all of you." Blue looked at Lora and booped her nose. "All I need is you."

"HAHA, I have power!" said Lora puting her hands up in the air.

"Yeah, I get that she's powerful, we get that, but she has no control over her powers! It depends on how she is feeling and she doesnt even have control over that." Lukas looked at Blue, disagreeing with him.

Lina goes near Lukas and kicks him in the leg. "That's mean."

"As much as I want to disagree with Lukas, this time I cant," Adel admitted.

Lina then does the same thing to Adel. "Hmph!"

"You guys don't need to worry. All I need is her putting some energy into this specific place withing that world."

"And, I too think that she is going to mess that one up," said Jay.

"Awh..." Lora was saddened by Jay's words. But Jay gave her a head pat, and that lifted her spirits up.

"We will cross that bridge when we get there, now how we get there is the problem and the reason I need you guys!"

"Can't you just teleport us? " Albi asked.

"Not quite."

"Hah, even your abilities have limits? What a shame." Jay said in a mocking tone.

"In this world, yes. I'm only able to create a portal to go in and out, and even then, the destination where each one of us ends up is random. It's an infinite world that keeps expanding with characteristics from every multiverse there is. We just need to find the core."

"That's... are you sure it's going to work?" Mar seemed skeptical of this whole thing.

"I know that reality has a future, so in one way or another, it's going to. Any questions?"

Jenn puts her hand up.

"Go on?"

"What about the reincarnation system?"

Blue leaned in close to her face, his expression serious. "You know, that whole system is in place because of a reality deal. Even if I didn't want it to take effect in that world, I couldn't do anything about it. But if I do say so myslef this world can potentially break that reality deal and go straight through their souls." He took a step back. "All righty with that being said, I can bring you guys back a total of three times if you happen to die. The radiation from this world can destroy your soul, maybe, and even I wouldn't be able to fix thaat, not even Lora if she had her powers in control."

"Great then, that should be all right?" asked Johan.

"I believe so," awnsered Blue.

 Great so, should be able to find each other because of our 'intuition'," Johan pointed at his phone. "Once we geather more information we should share with the group."

"Yes sir." said the group.

"Oki!"  said Jay.

"All righty then!" Blue opened a massive portal that was glitching and had all different colors glitching out of it.

"Before any of that," Blue approached Sylvia and Jasha with a commanding presence. "You will cooperate. You will obey. If not, I'll kill you two myself you heard that." He leaned in close to Jasha and whispered on his ear. "I need you for a few things, if you behave I promise I wont do anything to the girl. Yes?."

Jasha was frozen in terror. His entire body refused to respond, gripped by the fear of annihilation. One misstep, and he'd vanish into nothing, a mere footnote in history. With a final, chilling stare, Blue turned to the group. "After you!"

Everyone started to step into the portal, with Blue and Jay being the last. As Blue was about to walk in, Jay grabbed his shoulder. "A word!" he smiled.

Jays eyes had no emotion whatsoever, and wind was blowing from the portal.

"I don't trust this whole bullshit case of yours 'don't worry about it'? Fuck you!" Jay hit Blue on the shoulder.

"I see." Blue grabbed Jay by the throat. "Listen, one way or another, I need to restore and start stage 4 of reality. In my defense, I don't want to do this. It's going to drain Lora for good. But you, you can do something. Do you want Lora to die?" Blue let go of Jay.

Jay turned his back on Blue and faced the portal. He smiled. "I guess we'll see."

With that, Jay walked through the portal.
