Given that the weather was actually nice for a change, the year ten students found themselves gathered on the football field relaxing and taking in the sun and fresh air. Anastasia was sitting with one of her teammates watching the pick up game that a few of the boys had started.

Alfie, who had been assigned as goalie, caught the football as it came hurtling through the air at him. Running over to the side of the field he yelled "Hey Amber! Catch!" before chucking the ball at Amber's head.

Ana winced in sympathetic pain as the ball made contact with the beautiful blonde. "OWWW!" shrieked Amber unhappily.

"Sorry, sorry" apologized Alfie, before jogging off after the ball.

Natalie, her teammate and other close friend, turned to Anastasia with a serious face, "Ok Stace. Real talk. What's up with you three? You should be in the game with Mick or laughing with Amber right now"

"Are you trying to get rid of my Natalie Ryder?" teased Anastasia, hoping to avoid the topic.

"Always" joked back the girl, "but really, I'm worried about you what's going on. You've been so out of it since you three started fighting that you almost dropped Lindy at practice yesterday"

"Things have just been a mess between the two of them and it makes me uncomfortable. Reminds me a bit too much of home to have them sniping at each other" admitted Ana.

"Aww, babes. I'm sorry" commiserated Natalie, wrapping an arm around Ana's shoulder in support. The pair had bonded over their shitty home lives and love of cheer, becoming fast friends. Outside of Amber and Mick, Natalie was the third most important person in Ana's life.

The girls turned their attention back to the game just in time to see Mick shove Alfie to the ground. Trevor, the game's unofficial ref, whistled to stop the game as several people hustled to Alfie's side.

"What was that for!" shouted Amber angrily, rushing to Alfie's side.

"Mick! What was that Mate?" asked Jerome as he jogged over.

"That wasn't fair play and you of everyone here should know that" scolded Ana as reached the group.

"Are you ok?" asked Amber worriedly, her caring heart clearly taking the driver's seat of her mind.

"OOOWWWW!" screamed Alfie dramatically, flailing around on the ground.

Mick just laughed at the scene.

"I think I broke my ankle," yelled Alfie though there were clearly no signs of a traumatic injury.

"What?" yelled Mick moodily, "he's faking it. I hardly even touched him" the blond boy stomped off to parts unknown.

Anastasia watched unconvinced of Alfie's 'injury' as Jerome helped him stand up and the boy kept changing which leg was injured. Amber though had taken the bait, hook line and sinker. Following Alfie and Jerome back to Anubis house while worryingly checking on the boy the whole way.

Ana just went back to the bench with Natalie and resumed her conversation with her friend.

The next morning Alfie was still playing the role of a cripple and Amber was doing everything in her power to make the boy feel better. Anastasia shook her head in disgust when Jerome and Alfie high fived over making Amber do a bunch of work for him. Clearly she had been right and the injury was faked. Grabbing her bag, Ana flashed a smile to her new roommate as they passed in the doorway before Ana headed off to school.
