It was an early morning in the Riveildian institute, all the children murmured amongst themselves merrily as they enjoyed the peaceful early morning. Oliver and Amice walked into the class together sniggering to themselves.
"What did you two do now?" Thomas asked with a sigh as they both took their seats, Amice leaned in and whispered,
"Well you know how Mr. Hamphyll is always so salty." Oliver burst into an uncontrollable laughter, but their amusement only made Thomas more worried.
"What... did... you do?" Thomas asked sternly, Now, even Amice succumbed to her laughter, tears fell from her eyes as she was struck with hilarity.
"We snuck into his house this morning and filled up his sugar bowl with salt." She said. Thomas closed his eyes and sighed, he knew no one was more responsible for Mr. Hamphyll's stress than his two friends.
"You should have seen him when he drank a salty ginger tea." Oliver said right before the two burst into another uncontrollable laughter.
Just then, Mr. Hamphyll marched into the class with his round nose and eyes reddened.
"Settle down you brats." He grumbled. Even now, Oliver and Amice giggled silently. He scanned the classroom with a nasty grimace, grumbling something under his breath."Good morning Mr. Hamphyll," Thomas said, Mr. Hamphyll shot him an icy glare as if he had said something rude,
"Oh, shut it Thomas. I know what you and your friends did." Even though they were used to Mr. Hamphyll's attitude, no one expected this kind of reaction from him, especially towards Thomas, and Oliver didn't like it,
"Mr. Hamphyll he wasn't..."
"I wasn't talking to you." Oliver's words were cut off by Mr. Hamphyll's sharp comments. Click-clacks immediately came to life and yelled
"Hamphyll!!" The clock was very rarely furious, but only it was able to keep Mr. Hamphyll in line,
"What, what is it?" Mr. Hamphyll yelled at it,
"I will not have you berating these children in such manner." Mr. Hamphyll let out a grave chuckle,
"Here's a thought, instead of always looking at me, why don't you and get these little runts in line!" he said pointing a finger at the three friends. "Their devious actions constantly get on my last nerves and you don't even care." Though Click-clacks still seemed angry its voice was far calmer than Mr. Hamphyll's
"There are better ways to handle things like this." Mr. Hamphyll slammed his hand on his desk,
"Better ways my foot! These demons are making my life miserable!!"
"Have to have a life first before it can be ruined." Amice mumbled quite too loudly,
"What was that?" Mr. Hamphyll said shooting a piercing look at amice, he marched over to her with a manic glare and said, "Care too repeat that?" Amice put on a devious smirk and said calmly,
"What's wrong Mr. Hamphyll? Since you came in you seem a bit... Salty."
Mr. Hamphyll lost it, he gritted his crooked teeth and grabbed hold of what little strands of hair he had left,"Why you selfish, wild, imprudent, conniving little beasts!! I loathe the day you three walked into my life this I swear."
"Don't you loathe everything?" Oliver said silently, but Mr. Hamphyll heard it clearly. He took a step back and said;
"You know what? This is it, no amount of pay is worth putting up with YOU THREE!!" he marched over to his desk, dragged it open and rummaged through it before bringing out some papers and stuffing them in his satchel. He took one wide eyed look at the entire class and yelled; "I QUIT!!!" before marching out of the class.
