Thomas sighed as he stared at his reflection on the mirror. He'd spent hours of the previous night within his dreadful thoughts anticipating what he'd have to do today. Many a times had he embarked on Oliver's so called 'adventures' unwillingly just for the sake of it. But this particular one had to be the worst, and it wasn't just because he'd have to face this alone, but because he'd be alone with one person he tried to avoid. It was barely noon and the sun's rays wasn't nearly at its peak as it shone through the windows.

Knock, knock, Bang,

"How long are you going to be there Thomas?" Sophia; Thomas's Older sister voiced from the other side of the privy door. "I'll be late for professor Hamphyll's lessons." Thomas hurriedly preened one last time before picking up his rounded spectacles and heading out the door. "Whoa, now wait there just a minute." Sophia said as she holding her brothers arm. Sophia's eyes narrowed as she scanned Thomas' clothes. He wore a white buttoned tunic with a cottoned black over-shirt and a black pressed set of trousers.

"What is it?" Thomas question with furrowed brows, inhibited by his sisters close inspection. Sophia pulled on a curly lock of his hair.

"You combed it, or at least tried to." Thomas always hated Sophia how his hair was curly and hard to manage unlike hers; which was straight and long. A narrow-eyed grin spread on her face. "You're definitely not meeting up with Oliver and Amice today." Thomas tried to remain calm although his reddened cheeks had already betrayed his feelings. Sophia tightened her grip on his arm, "What's her name?"

"I-Its none of your concern?" Sophia's grin grew far wider,

"You are meeting with a girl!" she exclaimed. Thomas hushed her, frantically turning his head around to make sure no one heard.

"It's not what like you think."

"Is she pretty" Thomas turned his face away,

"well,..."

"Well?" Sophia prodded,

"Aren't you late for lessons or something?" Sophia immediately let go of Thomas's arm and jumped to her feet.

"Oh my goodness!!" She yelled, before rushing into the bathroom. She poked her head out of the door and looked to Thomas with a grin;"You'll tell me everything tonight." she said right before slamming the door shut.
Thomas let out a sigh once more, the girl in question wasn't just any girl, she was the elf that once turned the heads of everyone in his school.

Morning sun had almost turned noon and the streets of Riveildia were full. Thomas thought it strange how he hadn't seen his two friends, Oliver and Amice up to anything on a morning without school. He didn't wonder too much about it though, if they weren't up to anything this late in the morning, it meant they were sleeping in, which also meant they had spent the night doing something. Thomas made his way through the busy streets headed to see his usual hex man: Old man Jake.

"Good morning Thomas." Old man Jake greeted, punctuating his words with a wheezing cough. Thomas approached the his wooden stall.

"Good morning Jake," he stood at the tip of his toes stretched his neck trying to get a better look at Old man Jake's wares. "Do you have it?" he asked.

Old man Jake wore on a toothy grin displaying what was left of his crooked teeth. "Came in just today." He ducked down and began rummaging through the lower parts of his small stall. He got to his feet and presented a small pouch. "One Klaviar pouch, as requested" Thomas reached up and collected the pouch, his eyes gleaming with pure excitement.

"Thank you Jake." he said, as he tied its mouth to his belt.

"Say,..." Old man Jake asked while scratching his beard. "What makes that thingy there so special, quite costly I tell ya."
