The duskbell had made its last chimes and all the students of the senior Riveildian senior institute left for their respective homes. Professor Adeline sat alone in her office as she combed through pile after pile of records on her desk. The darkness that slowly crept into the office with the night was swiftly chased away as with one wave of her hand, Professor Adeline magically lit all the candles in her office at once.

"where are you?" she muttered under her breath as she continued her search in the endless piles of paper.

"Shouldn't there be some kind of spell to make this easier?" Gregor Hamphyll said as he stood at the office door. Professor Adeline kept looking through the papers as though she hadn't noticed him.

"I take precautions to ensure things like that aren't possible." She answered. Gregor casually walked towards the desk and looked at the papers. In the candle light, his russet hair glimmered slightly in gold.

"You've been at this for two days now, which student is so important that you have to bring out their file?" the look in Professor Adeline's eyes reflected relief for a moment, she leaned back against her chair and blew out a long breath right before handing Gregor a parchment. At one glance, he could already see whose file it was.

He cast Professor Adeline a curious stare. "Are you also interested in the other two?"

"No actually, this one in particular has always had me curious." Professor Adeline collected the file back and began reading through it. "I had almost forgotten, but when she was first enrolled here, there was no guardian present, so naturally I offered to waive the expenses; but she insisted on paying them. And according to this, she hasn't missed one payment ever since."

"Are you curious as to how she can afford it?"

"No. However, weeks ago I looked at her with my witch's eye and I noticed something very strange." she dropped the file on the desk; Amice light it read. "something truly strange."

Eleanor stood at the tip of her toes so she could peer out the castle windows, the maids and servants of the castle watched curiously at the young princess as she stared at the setting sun through it's glass with her gleaming blue eyes. They often wondered why this mysterious princess always seemed so cheerful at the end of each day. Eleanor turned around and rushed to the royal library. As the princess walked into the library, she looked around the shelves eyeing tall aisles of shelves containing hundreds of books. Eleanor never actually visited the library to read, This was something Celina, the royal librarian had realized long ago. Although the never opened a book unless it was absolutely necessary, she often spent hours between the shelves of the library hiding away from her tutors and sometimes, her father: the king. But today was different, Celina watched as the young princess ran her fingers along the spines of many books, as she read through their titles.

"How can I be of assistance your highness." Celina asked as she approached Eleanor. Aside from her father, Eleanor was closest to Celine in the entire castle. Even though they hardly spoke, the librarian could tell that the same way Eleanor had become attached to the serenity of the library, she had also become attached to its caretaker.

"I was looking for a book about the life cycle of a blue pixie." Eleanor said, the library gave a gentle smile before beckoning Eleanor to follow her. Even though Celina was a bit elderly, Eleanor thought she always seemed to have a youthful charm about her. Maybe it was her lean figure, maybe it was a smooth despite slightly wrinkled skin, or maybe it was her sparkling green eyes. But Eleanor always thought she was very beautiful.

Once they reached an aisle well into the library, the librarian handed her a leather-bound book with rune markings on its front cover. "This should have everything you need." Eleanor received the book with a smile of gratitude.
