The medal hero (Kamen rider OOO X Hero academia)

Part 20: Ankh's origin.

The chapter begins as we continue with the flashback where Ankh and a professor named Yaeko stare at each other through the glass wall. After her introduction, Ankh then looks around the lab once more before staring at her again.

Ankh: You call this a home? What a joke.

Yaeko responds to Ankh's skepticism with a soft chuckle as she walks slowly to the glass wall while her expression is both calm and collected.

Yaeko: I understand your feelings. But rest assured. Compared to the others like you, what you have is considered luxury.

Ankh: *Scoff* Luxury? I doubt that. So what makes me so special, anyway?

Yaeko composes her manner and embraces her pair of hands together.

Yaeko: That would be your physiology. You see. Foundation X focuses on bioengineering where we research and develop for the sake of mankind's benefits. There's something in you that has caught the foundation's attention and will be a valuable asset to our research.

Ankh stares at her in a way as if he is squinting his eyes as he looks at her with suspicion, trying to see if she's telling the truth or lie according to her expression.

Ankh: And what's this thing that you speak of?

Yaeko: Very funny. You know well what it is.

Ankh: Do you think that I am joking?

Only silence remains in the room as Ankh crosses his arms while Yaeko realises that Ankh has actually no idea about what she's talking about.

Yaeko: Wait. You're serious? Do you even know who you are?

Ankh shakes his head, causing her to be in disbelief for a brief moment before she manages to compose herself quickly.

Yaeko: This is certainly unexpected. We used the same method to restore the previous subjects. This is the first time we have one who doesn't have their memory.

Yaeko tries to think of a solution until an idea comes across her mind.

Yaeko: If that's the case, I suppose you don't mind listening to a story if it helps you.

Ankh: Whatever. As long as it helps in passing the time.

Ankh sits on the ground and stares at nothing while Yaeko finds a seat to sit on before she proceeds to start to storytell to Ankh.

Yaeko: Long ago, a group of cultists created special medals that contain a huge amount of energy. Along these medals, there are those that contain an infinite amount of energy with some gaining sentience. Thus, creatures made out of these said medals exists as they are called greeds. With these medals, the cult wanted to use them to rule the world along with a device. That device is the OOO driver where those who possesses this device can use the core medals to transform into an armoured individual named Kamen rider OOO.

Yaeko looks at Ankh only to see him not showing any signs of change as he has yet to regain any memory from the story.

Yaeko: However, before the cult could make their move, someone else stole the device along with some of the core medals. That man decided to use them for good reasons as well as to stop the cult.

Ankh: Heh. He must be bold enough to think he can take on the cult by himself.

Yaeko: You're right. He wasn't able to do it alone. That's why he had a partner who is none other than you.

Hearing this causes Ankh to become surprised as he stares at Yaeko in disbelief. Ankh then interrupts her storytelling by asking a question.

Ankh: How did he and I become partners?
