Ch.16

"We gotta go home?" Trevon asks me when we get back in the house.

"No, y'all can spend the night. My dad said girls on the couches and boys on the floor." I say with a shrug and walk into the kitchen. I'm hungry for actual food.

"I call this couch!" Kayla yells and then sits on the comfy loveseat.

"A I'm hungry." Jace says with a groan.

"Y'all want chicken? Uncle Derek made it today. I can warm it up in the air fryer." I suggest. They all collectively yell yes.

"I'll help." Edwardo says with a smirk. I look over at him and give him a small smile.

"Nah you tryna get freaky in the kitchen." Toni says to his cousin with a laugh.

I roll my eyes and tell Edwardo to come on.

"You have a nice house." He says and slides the kitchen door shut.

Interesting

"Thank you." I say and then take the chicken out of the fridge and put a couple pieces in the air fryer.

"AIYLA! Where the remote?" I hear Trevon yell from the living room

"First drawer in the middle table!" I yell back

"So." Edwardo says while looking at me.

"So?" I say with a chuckle.

"I have a confession to make." He says looking a little nervous.

Must be big. He never looks nervous.

I jump up and sit on the counter and he comes in between my legs.

"Jaden didn't tell me where you live." He says bluntly while avoiding eye contact with me. Probably because he's embarrassed.

"I know." I say with a chuckle

"Honestly I've known you lived here for a while. I live like 4 houses down." He says and his face is turning pink a little.

"So you're a stalker?" I say joking with him

"I'm more of an admirer." He says with a chuckle.

"Uh huh." I say

"How do you not have a man yet? You're so pretty." He asks while looking into my eyes.

"Not my thing." I say with a small shrug

"Mm we should change that." He says and then touches my nose with his.

Right as he's about to kiss me the air fryer goes off.

"I gotta get that." I whisper and he nods with a pained look on his face but backs away.

I take a breath and then I get off the counter.

I repeat the process with the chicken about 2 more times and as I'm about to walk back into the living room Edwardo pulls me back to him.

"Not so fast." He says and wraps his arms around my waist.

"What do you mean?" I ask him nervous and he picks me up and sets me on the counter once again.

He's about to kiss me until someone busts into the kitchen and i quickly jump down.

AGAIN!!

"Where the food at Aiyla?" Kayla asks me. She's looking between me and Edwardo trying to figure out what's going on.

"I'm coming." I say with a sigh and grab the chicken and Edwardo grabs a enough plates for all of us and we bring it into the kitchen. I look around and Jace is already asleep. He's always been an early sleeper. It's only 1am. I shake him awake so he can eat something.
