hey guys sorry i havent updated for a while. i've been really sick. and then there;s school, and i went to the fair. i still think my favourite ride of all time is the gravitron. or the zipper. but NOT the sky master. i screamed more then i probably did when i was BORN. but i cant wait for this summer. hellevator heeerrrree iiii cooommmee!
okay so im getting off topic. let me know what you think of the story so far :)
David's POV
i was standing by the door of Chase's kitchen, with a red cup in my hand. i wasn't quite sure what was in it, but i drank it anyways. my buddy Sam was by my side, talking about this girl he had his eye on. my girlfriend, Rebecca, was dancing with her friends to the loud thumping music. i just watched, bored. honestly, i had MUCH better things to do then stand here at some party thrown by a guy i barely know. i scanned he crowd and found Howard, the punker who was in my maths class, doing shots off of Rebecca's stomache.
rage filled me, not toward Howard, but toward Rebecca. how could she let him do that to her?! she's taken things a little too far now. i walked over there and caught Howard's eye and he froze mid shot. i raised my eyebrow.
" hey, David! Rebecca here volenteered to play a little game. she said you wouldn't mind." Howard mummbled nervously. i threw him a tight smile and glared down at my half naked girlfriend, who was obviously drunk.
" is that so? Rebecca, i think you should go home. you have had WAY too much to drink. you're under age. i'll drive you-"
" NO! don't you EVER let me have fun? no, you don't. i wanna get drunk and party. now." she half whinned half slurred. i rolled my eyes. disgusting.
" Rebecca, im calling you a cab. your mother is going to be mad as is, seeing as you promised her you wouldn't drink. i don't want you to do things you will regret in the morning. a hangover is the last thing you need on a sunday morning." i told her, lifting her angry and protesting body off of the table and i stood her on her two wobbly legs. just as i put her shirt back on, Howard's friend Matt suggested he drive her home.
Matt wasn't the type of guy i would trust with driving my embarassing dunk girlfriend home.i put my hand up and shook my head. as i was about to drive her home myself, Mike, the opnely gay guy in my P.E class offered a hand. his brown hair was neatly swept into a foe hawk. i could see him checking my out already, so i nodded my head and walked away as fast as possible. ew.
i didn't have anything against gay people, as a matter of fact, i was buddies with Mike. but i didn't like the thought of him checking me out. i shivered and walking back to the kitchen and caught Sam Chatting with one of the cheerleaders. i believe her name is Tracy. i walked up behind her and froze dead in my tracks as my eyes fell on a familier face. two shining green eyes peered up at me stranding behind Tracy. her long brown hair rolling into loose curls, framing her angelic face, her red lips matched her pretty little red tee shirt. the little green eyebrow peircing on her eyebrow coinsidently matched the colour of her eyes nearly perfectly.
i didn't realize i was staring until Tracy and Sam cleared their throats.i exhaled slowly and threw a knowingly heartbreaking grin at Tracy, and i watched as her eyes widened and a little gasp escaped her mouth. Sam grinned like an idiot, glancing at the green eyed girl.
"Hey! David, you've met Catherine, right? Tracy said you guys had a little colision in the hallway on her first day?"
"err, yeah... we haven't actually met though." i mummbled, stealing a swift glance at Catherine. her cheeks were flushed. i guess she remembered that day too. i stuck out my hand and offered it to her for a hand shake. her long, soft hand grasped mine with a surprising strength. " hi, my name's David." i looked her shamlessly in the eyes, trying to guess what she was thinking. she smiled, revealing shining teeth.
" hi. I'm catherine. sorry i didnt introduce myself when we technically first met." she replied with a shy grin. my heart sped up and my mind raced. wait... she was the girl with the car! and the one i knocked over coming out of the gym that day! wow, we sure did run into each other... a lot. a voice in the back of my head reminded me that i didnt mind running into people if they all looked like her.
i felt my ears get warm when i finally pulled my hand from hers. Sam and Tracy were slowly moving away. i glared at Sam and her leaned in to my ear,
" David, dude! this is finally your chance to get a REAL girl. not like Rebecca. when i was talking to her she souns like the kind of girl you would be interested in." Sam rush whispered. i rolled my eyes. i wasn't dumping Rebecca! why would i do such a thing? everyone said we looked perfect together! i definately wanted to be friends with Catherine, but i didn't LIKE her.
Fire erupted from the floor, devouring everything in its path. the yellow flames licked at the walls, spilling onto the roof. thick black smoke filled the air instantly. screams suddenly joined the cracking wood and screeching plates falling to the ground. inch by inch the hot tounges of fire smothered the now empty dance floor. bodies ran everywhere, flailing their arms and stumbling into other people. the mystery liqure in the bottle on the counter exploaded, shardes of steaming hot glass flying everywhere, some missing me by mere milimetres. A squeal thundered from behind me, moving closer and closer up until it reached a blood curddling scream.
i turned to see Catherine bleeding from her arms and legs, glass from the window behind us buried in her skin. she just stared at me, with a blank look in her eyes. all around us, people were moving, rushing, screaming. but as i stared into those two big green eyes all noise evaporated. the only thing in my mind was the picture of catherine bleeding and her eyes glazed over as if she were already dead. a large shard of glass was stuck in the side of her neck, blood oozing slowly but powerfully.
and so i picked her up and ran.
i ran as fast as i could. i cradled a weak catherine in my arms. she was bleeding a lot. the sight made me naucious, and i had to focus on keeping my eyes forward. the glass in her neck had peirced a large vein, i guessed. catherine stared at me with glassy eyes the whole way to my car.her long brown hair dangled beneith her, her arms and legs limp. her eyes made me feel like i was loosing balance. i tripped as i ran, but didn't fall.
i had parked a few blocks away, so i wouldnt get towed. i really didn't want to get blood all over the seat of my new car, so as i put her shot gun i was thankful for the blanket i had covering the seat. i sped the rest of the way to the hospital. i had to pass the house to get onto the highway, and a tear slid down my face as Chase's house exploaded finally, engulfing everything in flames.
thank god rebecca had gone home early, i tried to think. but the thought just didn't reach me. i felt so distant. so alone, though a girl was sitting here next to me. i glanced over at her, and she was out cold, her bloodied face resting upon the window.
Unknowns POV
i watch him run her from the house. she was bleeding. a lot. he ran right and i followed in the shadows silently. as her carried her, all she did was stare up at him. he slid her into his car and drove off. i followed again.
they reached the hospital. the cold ridged air bit my skin, and i pulled my coat tighter. so much for september summer. i walked casually into the waiting room, and watched as the boy brought her to the counter. the nurse behinde the desk gasped and called for a doctor. she was soon layed onto a stretcher and pushed into the ER. again, i followed.as i passed, the nurse spoke,
" good evening, Dr. richardson."
