As the alarm pierced the silence of my restless slumber, it felt like yet another cruel reminder of life's relentless march. With a heavy heart, I reached to silence its shrill cry, a futile attempt to halt the inevitable progression of time.

Dragging myself from the comfort of my bed, I stumbled towards the bathroom, each step feeling like a laborious journey through the desolate landscape of my existence. I looked up and was confronted by my own reflection in the mirror.

I couldn't help but wonder why misfortune seemed to cling to me like a shroud, enveloping me in its suffocating embrace

I couldn't help but wonder why misfortune seemed to cling to me like a shroud, enveloping me in its suffocating embrace.

What sins had I committed to warrant such unrelenting punishment? The loss of my parents at such a tender age, a wound that still bleeds raw, leaving me adrift in a sea of financial hardship. The betrayal of love, as my girlfriend's infidelity tore through the fragile fabric of my trust like a jagged blade.

And then, the cruelest blow of all – the insidious presence of a tumor, a silent harbinger of my impending demise, lurking within the recesses of my own flesh, consuming me from the inside out.

Yet, despite the weight of despair pressing down upon me, life demanded its dues. With resignation etched into every line of my weary face, I trudged through the monotony of another day, my spirit battered and bruised by the relentless onslaught of adversity.

At my workplace, I danced to the tune of a tyrannical boss, his incessant shouting serving as a constant reminder of my own insignificance. And yet, amidst the chaos, there existed a flicker of solace – the unwavering support of my colleagues, a beacon of light in the ever-darkening abyss of my existence.

Returning home, I sought refuge in the numb embrace of alcohol, drowning my sorrows in a futile attempt to escape the relentless ache that gnawed at my soul. But even the numbing embrace of inebriation proved inadequate to staunch the bleeding wounds of my shattered heart.

Stepping out onto the balcony, I gazed up at the heavens with tear-stained eyes, the sight of a meteor shower painting the night sky with fleeting beauty. And in that moment of profound anguish, I found myself uttering a desperate plea to the uncaring cosmos, a lamentation born of unyielding pain.

"I wish for this world to be taken over by darkness," I whispered hoarsely, my voice cracking with the weight of despair. "Bring darkness to this world, and let it consume me whole."

And as the echoes of my anguished cry faded into the night, I bowed my head, tears mingling with the rain as I surrendered to the crushing weight of my own sorrow.

KEIRA P.O.V

In the quiet confines of our home, restlessness clawed at my senses. Moments stretched like shadows across the floor as I idled, lost in a realm of monotony. But then, like a breeze stirring stagnant air, my sister's voice called out to me.

"Keira!" I recognized the urgency in her tone and turned towards her, a spark of interest igniting within me.

"What?" I replied, my voice a whisper of curiosity as I met her gaze.

"It's time for the meteor shower. We need to go," she implored, her words carrying a sense of anticipation.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes, a habit born of familiarity. "Why do I need to go?" I questioned, the weight of ennui heavy in my voice.

"What do you mean? All of us are supposed to be there," Cole insisted, her words laced with expectation.

"No one needs me there," I retorted, a bitter edge creeping into my words. "Every time, it's the same wishes. All the credit goes to the angels, always. There is no need for a darkness like me."

"Oh, c'mon. Of course there is a need for you. Otherwise, why would you be created?" Cole's rebuttal held a note of sincerity, a flicker of warmth amidst the chill of my doubts.

"I still wonder that," I confessed quietly, rising from my seat with a sigh of resignation.

Together, we ventured into the night, drawn to the gathering where wishes were spoken into the ether, where destinies were whispered into existence.

"Keira. What took you so long?" Our mother's voice greeted me, a gentle chide tinged with concern.

"Because I wasn't gonna come here in the first place," I replied, my words tinged with defiance.

"Why not?" Her question hung in the air, laden with unspoken emotions.

"There is literally no need for me here," I replied, my voice a whisper of resignation.

"Keira—" Her protest was cut short by the arrival of Uriel, an angelic presence that brought both comfort and unease.

"You're absolutely correct, Keira. There is no need for you here," Uriel affirmed, their words a blade that pierced through my facade.

I offered a fake smile in response, my mask slipping into place as I settled into my seat, a silent observer amidst the symphony of wishes.

As the wishes washed over me, each one a echo of longing, I found myself growing increasingly detached, my thoughts drifting to trivialities.

But then, amidst the familiar cadence of desire, a wish unlike any other pierced the stillness.

"I wish for this world to be taken over by darkness."

The words hung in the air, a declaration of defiance that sent shockwaves through our gathering.

"I guess I have got some work to do. See y'all later," I declared, my smile a wicked curve that belied the turmoil within.

With a flick of my gaze, I bid farewell to Uriel, relishing the fleeting moment of triumph before slipping away into the night, my purpose clear, my destiny beckoning.

KAI P.O.V

I was just about ready to declare war on the persistent doorbell. Each chime seemed like a personal affront to my peace and quiet. So, when the bell rang yet again, I stormed towards the door, prepared to unleash a tirade of epic proportions.

But there she stood,

a vision that brought the chaos to a screeching halt

a vision that brought the chaos to a screeching halt. Her smile was like a ray of sunshine breaking through storm clouds. My annoyance dissolved quicker than an ice cube in the Sahara desert.

"I know I'm pretty. You can stop staring," she quipped, breaking me out of my reverie.

My brain scrambled for coherence, trying to find words that didn't sound like a jumbled mess. "O-oh. Uhm. Anyways. Who are you?"

"Darkness."
