Ferit POV
It was heart-wrenching to witness Nazli in distress and I can't help but feel responsible. My mother pissed me off to no end with her ridiculous social ideologies. How could she be so cruel to call Nazli a stray? That was below the belt and out of line.
As the guests milled around, I took the opportunity to approach my mother privately. I lowered my voice, but the strength in my tone let her know how serious I am. "I don't give a fuck about appearances or whatever class ideas you have in your head, you will not speak to Nazli that way. She means everything to me and all I ask is for you to respect her."
"She can will never be up to our level." She counters
"Don't test my patience mother." I shot back. I pass a frustrated hand over my hair "Up to our level? Fake and superficial, just like you?" I decide to walk away. I was having such a great time tonight, normally I would show up for thirty minutes and then go home but being here with Nazli I wanted to stay.
"Hey Ferit, come let's step outside for a bit." Sinan called for me.
"I'm waiting for Nazli." I hesitated to leave.
"Fatos left to get Nazli... And we had a hard time getting here." He smirks and I laugh understanding the hidden message.
Sinan and I walked outside to the gardens. There, we met up with Hakan, Demir, Deniz, and our other jerk-ass cousin, Baris. Sinan pulled out cigars, and we all lit them up, having in a smoke session. Our conversation flowed smoothly, around football and Bulut. "So tell me Ferit, do you really think Nazli can live in our world? The bitch doesn't have any money, do you really think it's gonna last?" Hakan said.
"She must be a good fuck then." Baris remarked crudely.
In an instant, I shot to my feet and delivered a swift punch to Baris's face. He immediately clutched his nose, shouting that it was broken. I turned to Hakan, my voice low and menacing. "If you ever mention Nazli's name again, I'll end you," I spat, my anger palpable. Sinan, sensing the tension, stepped in and physically removed me from the situation, leading me away.
"What the fuck Sinan?! Do we live the 19th century? Who the fuck cares what Nazli bank account is or her last name. I love her, I've never loved anyone like this." I run my hands through my hair as I pace around to release my anger.
"Don't listen to those two idiots. They are scum who enjoy sleeping around while their wives wait at home." Sinan then smiles "congrats Ferit, you finally found love."
"It's crazy Sinan because it's fast but I don't care."
"I can see that. You're different with her too... It's great seeing you come to life with her." He pats my back.

Nazli POV
I pop up and quickly dry my tears as someone slid the door open. I turn to see Fatos approach me. It's just us in this big balcony. "Oh thank goodness you're here." I run to hug her.
"Hey twigs. Are you okay?" She pulls away to look at my face.
I shake my head 'no.'
"Talk to me twigs, what happened?" I explain the entire night to Fatos.
"I'm so sorry, twigs. Please don't let Ms. Leman's ugly words cut away pieces of you. It's sad to see how the rich link their value by their bank accounts. You are extraordinary just the way you are so don't let this old hag change you or worse, destroy you."
I nodded, wrapping my arms around Fatos even tighter, my emotions welling up. "I don't know what I would do without you, Fatos. You are my only family in this world."
