stargazing.

We were gathered around the fire, as the last bit of wood burned down. Newt and I were the only ones left, because someone had to keep an eye on the fire. The others left one by one as it got later and later.

I looked around and then his eyes met mine. "You know... I ask myself when was the last time that we were alone around this time?", I said and he moved closer to me. He broke the eye contact and looked up to the sky.

"I exactly remember. It was the evening we had our first kiss. You were stressed from all the work and hid in the forest while we sat at the fire. When I looked for you I sat down and we talked. You told me you were tired and exhausted from all the work, so I offered you to rest on my lap." I listened while he retold our story.

"At first you were sceptical and just looked me in the eyes. Your pretty eyes were shining in the dark. I got lost in them and you in mine. Then you grabbed my face and pulled me in for a kiss. Our lips were obsessed. It was like a curse. The best curse of my life. A little later you fell asleep on my lap that evening and soon after I fell asleep too. The pain we felt in our backs the next day was horrible but it was worth it."

I was stunned. The way he talked about it. Like he was the author of our love story. I mean he is, and I'm probably the co-writer. "There are so many more empty chapters for us to fill.", I said totally caught in my own thoughts. A small chuckle echoed in my ears. My eyes wandered around until they met his.

"You know what? Come with me. We'll go for an adventure. The fire is out and we're awake.", Newt said. Then grabbed my hand and pulled me up. Not knowing where we went, he ran while dragging me. "Be careful or we might trip", I whispered.

He stopped, turned around and put his arms around my waist. He took a step back and said: "My dear I'm so sure we're not gonna-" And just like that we fell. Luckily for me I landed safe. I chuckled while he whined. "That's not funny!" "I said it."

Newt grabbed my cheeks and asked: "You think you're funny?" But before I could answer he gave a peck on my lips. Just a small gesture but it made my heart race. He was breathing fast so I asked him with: "seriously are you okay?" "I'm okay!"

I rolled over so we both faced the sky. It was clear and we could see all the stars.

He pointed up "Look this star is the brightest up there, but I have a star with me that shines way brighter."  My hand roamed around the grass to find his. As soon as i found his, I grabbed it tight.

After some time I could feel my eyes getting heavier and heavier. "I'm tired", I said. "Wait a minute I will be right back", Newt stood up and left.

I left to get some blankets for us. It was a struggle to find the way back and it took quite some time. When I returned I sat down and heard Y/N snoring. He fell asleep. I tucked him in and gave a him a kiss on his forehead before laying down next to him.

"good night, my love."
