The Shifts

TW⚠️:this chapter does have more swearing than my other chapters especially near the end. Felt it added more to the plot
(Marinettes POV)
(Sunday night)
"Seriously Alya!!!??" I say to her in annoyance
"Yes Marinette" she responds
"But I hate her" I try to argue "AND, she was flirting with Adrien, MY Adrien " I tell her
"Look girl, I think this will be good for you" she tells me "you two can finally set aside your differences for the sake of Paris, and me" she continues
"Alya the point of these shifts are to make sure that Paris is safe, me and that, that.." but I'm cut short when Alya says "Marinette! " "Fine" , I continue "Me and Lila working together would only do more harm than good"
Me and Chat met with Alya and Nino on Saturday and agreed on most shifts but right as we where about to go over the last two there was a fire emergency that me and Chat needed to be at so Alya said she would do the last two shifts. Note to self: never trust Alya when the last four people to arrange are me,Lila,Zoe and Mylene
"Alya please, I really don't wanna work with some liar who is shamelessly flirting with other girls boyfriend" I beg
"Look Marinette, I put you and Lila together because you and her need to work out whatever it is between you two, and if you don't want to talk then just focus on the work. Ok"
"Ok" I finally give in, whenever Alya has her mind set on something it is impossible to get her to changer her mind.
"Come on girl, we have school tomorrow and Nino and me have the first shift tomorrow after school"
"Fine" I say in defeat

(Monday afternoon)

"Ok Marinette I need to go and meet up with Nino at the park for our shift,ok?"
"Yeah,yeah ok" I say "try to focus a little bit on the work and not each others eyes please" I tease her
"Oh no you caught me" she teases back "the whole reason I set up the shifts was to kiss my dreamy prince in shining armor"
Me ,Alya , Nino and Adrien like to role play as kings, queens, knights and so on so forth, we have a lot of fun with them.
"Well I shan't keep you away from you prince any longer lady Alya" I say
"Bye girl" Alya replies.

When Alya is away I turn around thinking about finishing my latest dress that I have been working on since I have the rest of the day free when...
"Marinette"
Oh great this girl
"I just saw the shifts and it looks like me and you have Friday afternoon together" she says in that sweet and totally fake voice of hers
"Yeah it looks like we do"
Alya I am going to get you back for this
"Look Lila, I know we both hate each other but can we put our differences aside for one day, for the sake of Paris?, then after our shift we can go back to hating each other" I say extending my hand
"Sure, for the sake of Paris" she shakes my hand.
We both turn around and are walking away when Lila yells "Oh wait, I forgot to tell you something Mari"
Ugh I hate when she says Mari like she is my best friend, ONLY ALYA AND ADRIEN CALL ME MARI.
"You need to trust Adrien, jealousy is not a good look on you, bye" she flips her hair and walk away
"UGH" I yell.
How dare she tell me to trust my boyfriend, I trust him more than any one. I just tend to HATE it when girls like you flirt with him cause he is taken.

(Lilas POV)

Oh what a beautiful day to be me.

When I get back to my hideout I call Mr Agrest
"Hello s.." I start
"Well" he cuts me off
Straight to business I see as usual
"She got even angrier today" I say "I fear an akumitization"
"So you think Monarch will akumitize soon?" He asks
"Well maybe not today but maybe by this Friday" I say                                                                                        "Are you sure that we cant expect it earlier?" he asks eagerly                                                                             "I'm sure" I say "and unfortunately I fear I am going to be the closest to her since we have patrol together" I continue                                                                                     "Dont worry Lila" he says after a couple seconds "I'm sure she won't hurt you, you are team mates" he says reassuringly                                                                              "Thank you sir, now if you will excuse me I need to start my homework"                                                    
"Of course, take care" he cuts the call
(Friday morning)
"By the way Marinette, your father and I have been invited to a new bakery's grand opening in Porties" mum tells me "ok have fun
