Khalid Chaudhary
*******************

It was already 5:30 PM and my daughter was still not at home. I had specifically told her to be back before 4:30, and even though I had to stay at work longer, I made sure to leave and pick her up from the university. However, when I arrived at the university, she was nowhere to be found.

The security guard informed me that she had already left. Panic started to rise within me as I paced back and forth in the living room. What if something bad happened to her? What if he was back?.

"Stop pacing around and sit down, Khalid", my wife, yasmine, said calmly. "May be she's just struck in the traffic".

I stopped and and looked at her with teary eyes. "He's back, Yasmine. He's back after 14 years just to make my life miserable", I replied, my voice trembling.

"Who's back Khalid?", she asked, wiping my tears.

"Junaid Raza Mir. He promised me he would come back. See he's back", I said, my tears turning into hiccups.

"Why would he come back after so many years, Khalid? You're just stressed about the orphanage. You're imagining things", she said, trying to calm me down.

But I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had settled in my heart. I was sure he was back and he was taking revenge by harming my daughter. I couldn't bear the thought of losing her. She is my life, along with her mother. They were the only reasons I continued to live in this cruel world.

As yasmine started preparing dinner in the kitchen, I tried calling my daughter, but her phone was switched off. It only added to my fears.

"I'm sure he's back, Yasmine", I said, my voice filled with worry.

"Stop thinking bad, Khalid. Nothing will happen to our daughter", she said, hugging me tightly.

I hugged her back, finding some solace in her embrace. But our moment was interrupted by the doorbell. I broke the hug and ran to open the door, hoping it was my daughter. But my worst fears came true, when I saw him standing there-- Junaid Raza Mir.

"Hello, Khalid. Long time no see", he said, with a evil smirk on his face.

"What do you want?", I asked, my voice shaking with anger and fear.

"I came to fulfill my promise. Remember, I said I would come back and make your life a living hell", He said, his voice low and menacing.

"You leave us alone! You have no right to come back after all these years", I yelled, trying to hide the fear that was creeping up my spine.

"I have every right, Khalid. And now, it's time for your daughter to pay for your sins", he said, his eyes glinting with malice.

My heart stopped. I couldn't let him harm my daughter. I had to protect her. But how? I was no match to him. He was stronger and more powerful then me.

"Please, Junaid. Leave us alone. We have moved on from the past. Don't do this", I pleaded, hoping he would have some compassion left in him.

"Compassion? You took everything from me, Khalid. And now, it's time for me to take everything from you", he said, before turning and walking away.

I stood there, feeling helpless and scared. What could I do to save my family from his wrath? I prayed for my daughter's safety and hoped she would come home soon.

Just then, my phone rang. It was her. She was on her way back. I let out a sigh of relief, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had settled in my heart. Junaid Raza Mir was back, and he would stop at nothing to destroy us.
