Mars came up pretty quickly. Too quickly perhaps. Felix was overworked once again. Between trying to motivate Draco to train for quidditch, his brews advancing to the next stage, overwhelming classes on apparition and his regular classes, he was exhausted.

Draco was definitely tired as well, he even started to admit he was scared, but he also kept sneaking away to work until late at night.

They didn't interact much. Nor together nor with their friends, except on the small occasion they weren't working, running or sleeping. Though they kept sleeping together, hugging and kissing from time to time. They just did it in silence. None of them had the strength or the will to speak. They understood each other well enough now not to need words.

Felix had to take a break on the third day of Mars for Ron's birthday. Everything went fairly well, except that Harry had been asking him a lot of question regarding what Draco did recently. Then he went back to work to mix the terrible smelling mead with the boiling mercury diluted in water. He then followed the instructions to mix all the remaining ingredients in. He stirred clockwise and counter-clockwise according to the recipe. For the first time in month, he finally saw a reaction, a change in all of the ingredients, that finally resembled the colour of what he'd seen before.

He couldn't imagine how it must have been for the Flamel to try so much things and see no results for months before finding the right recipe.

He stirred for so long that his arms were all tensed. But finally, the liquid was ready.

Felix took half of it out and stored it just in case, then he boiled the liquid for a few hours, until he was left with a large blood red goo.

He covered it and placed a cooling spell on it before locking the door. He'd finally made the philosopher's stone. Now he had to let it to harden and crystalize for a few weeks.

He went to sleep with peace at mind. He would start to experiment with the rest of the liquid to try and find clues to the panacea while the rest hardened.

But the next day, his joy fell. Ron had been poisoned by accident and was in the infirmary, and Draco's plan had failed again.

Felix had visited a very dead looking Ron, he'd been very tempted to brew him the Flamel's elixir just in case. To his great surprise neither Harry nor anyone actually had suspected Draco of anything.

Most people even overlooked what happened, to focused on the next Quidditch match, Gryffindor against Hufflepuff. Though he had absolutely no idea that Harry was severely doubting his trust despite perfectly knowing he'd never betray them, perhaps because of the number of time he'd seen them stuck together on the marauder's maps. He wasn't he wanted to know whatever they were doing, but he had decided to start doubting Felix's word when he said he wouldn't involve himself. Beside, he didn't believe Draco to be clever enough to do whatever his mission was on his own.

A few days later, Felix regretted he did not come to see the match. Harry had been knocked out by McLaggen and Felix would have gladly shot the latter with a fun spell.

He still got revenge for Harry, along with Ginny of course. He still had some stuff he'd made with the twins. Ginny had then sneaked inside his dorm to hide them. And when he went to bed, the gryffindors heard beautiful screams. McLaggen was found the next day covered in sticky Umbridge pink glitters.

As once was not enough, Felix had supplied Ginny with more glitters to put in his stuff and a good dozen more glitter bombs to last the week. McLaggen would spend the week covered in various coloured glitters.

Of course everyone had know Felix was the twin's helper so it was obvious on whom had provided the glitters, but there was no real proofs, and Felix had an alibi proving he hadn't approached the Gryffindor tower, nor sneaking in.

In fact, he'd been busy learning how to cut and shape the philosopher's stone assisted by the headmaster himself, so the latter vouched for him.

Felix trusted Ginny with everything. He'd been very busy deciding what to do with that rather large amount of philosopher stone.

Dumbledore had helped Felix cut it in several pieces. Everything was stored for experimentations of course. Or at least from what Dumbledore knew. Felix had kept a small stone for him. One that he cut into two after the headmaster left. He'd spent the whole past week learning the spells Dumbledore had used to shape and polish the stones.

He finally finished what he was doing and rushed to his dorm, as it was now quite late. He was doing something completely dangerous, but as long as he was the only one aware, it was definitely the safest way to keep the stone safe.

He sneaked through the castle and into his common room without being caught, which unless he passed by Peeve or turned right into Filch, was not that difficult.

As usual, Draco was waiting for him, already in his pyjamas. He pouted as soon as Felix came into his view.

"You're late again." he mumbled as he hugged him. As they both worked on their separate projects, they barely saw each others outside of class.

Felix smirked and answered, "I have a good reason this time. I made something."

Draco instantly turned curious. He had long since stopped asking Felix what he was 'brewing', and now was a chance to now.

"Close your eyes." Felix whispered him with a smile. He was quite excited about it, he hoped they wouldn't wake the others up.

Draco closed his eyes and Felix took something out of his pocket. His hands rose and Draco guessed he was tying something around his neck. He heard Felix chuckle but not the authorization to open his eyes.

Finally, Felix allowed him to. He stood before him with a big smile. Around his neck he had a golden chain. Draco's fingers rose to his own necklace to watch it. It was the exact same.

He smiled and pulled Felix in for a kiss.

"Thank you Felix. But may i inquire for what occasion and why is it Gryffindor themed ?" he asked with a quiet chuckle.

Felix rose his arms around his neck and kept him close. He smiled as he whispered mischieviously,

"Well, alchemy is quite unpredictable isn't it ? Should i try to make emerald and silver next time ?"

Draco froze, "Wait that's what you meant when you said you 'made' it ? You fucking genius." he cursed as he tried to muffle his laugh by hiding in Felix's neck. "So, what is it really ?" he asked once he calmed down.

"Gold and Garnet. Do you like it ? It was such a pain to put into shape." he chuckled. Draco rose a little and pecked his lips.

" How could i hate something you made ? I'll wear it everyday."

Felix smiled knowingly and kissed him again. "I hope so."

They had absolutely no idea they were being watched by two differently pleased house-elves that would report to Harry as soon as they fell asleep.
