Mashiho's eyes were burning. He didn't think they'd meet again, especially like this.
Yedam was just as shocked as Mashiho. He knew him and Akio were going to meet someone, but he didn't think it'd be Mashiho, this early after his arrival as well.
"Uh.. baby can you go play in Mashiho's room for a few minutes please.? Daddy promises to come get you as soon as we're done." Akio requested to his daughter and he gave her his phone to play on while she's alone.
"I-" Mashiho started but couldn't fully think. He did just wake up after all.
"Excuse me for a moment please.." Mashiho slightly whispered and went into his kitchen.
Yedam looked disappointed seeing Mashiho leave the room in such a way. Mashiho used to be so cheery and happy around Yedam but now it's like a wet match trying to catch fire.
Akio excused himself as well, going to check on his dear friend and see if he can help him in some sort of way.
"Mashiho." Akio tried to speak but got cut off.
"Akio-" Mashiho stuttered a bit. "How long did you know he'd be coming.? And if you lie to me, don't think I will ever talk to you again."
Mashiho was real serious about this situation. Yedam, his old crush, someone he'd never thought he'd see again, In his house. And now that Mashiho fully thinks, he realizes.
"He works with me too." Mashiho said with an unexplainable emotion. He looked like he had seen a ghost in his sleep and can't go anywhere without thinking about it. But this time, the ghost is Bang Yedam.
"I was wanting it to be some sort of surprise but I guess it seems like you never had the intention of ever knowing him at all. Well- I mean, getting to know him again.." Akio sighed and apologized to him and left the room.
Mashiho wasn't fully upset about this kind of reunion if you can even call it that, but he didn't want Yedam to see how he was doing, especially in this kind of state. Mashiho had grown some kind of mental illness over the years and he didn't want it to effect Yedam as well.
Mashiho went out of the kitchen and back into his living room, seeing Yedam and Akio talking about who knows what so he decides to finally say something.
"Ahem-" Mashiho cleared his throat, immediately catching the attention of the two men who were in the middle of a non important conversation. "Nice to see you again Yedam.." Mashiho bowed and kinda smiled but not enough for it to even be called a real smile.
"Oh- Yes.. nice to meet you again as well Mashiho.." Yedam bowed as far as he could, as if Mashiho had some power over him.
Mashiho had a sad glimpse on his face. Yedam used to only call him by a nickname, as if calling him by his government name was a crime. But now after 7 years, the name Mashiho had become his new name to him.
Shiho replayed in Mashiho's mind, the nickname that he was once only called by the younger. Mashiho couldn't stand not hearing his former nickname, from his former best friend, and his former crush, who had potential of becoming more than that... only if he tried.
"Mashiho I gotta go but if you want to continue to chat with Yedam then go ahead." Akio said as he went to Mashiho's room to grab his sleeping daughter before fully leaving his apartment.
There was nothing but silence in Mashiho's apartment for a few minutes until Mashiho decided to finally speak.
"Well..." Mashiho sighed thinking about what to say. "Are you just visiting or moving here? I see you got a new job as a coworker of mine." Mashiho said and asked Yedam a sorta difficult question.
"Well Uhm. I was planning on moving here like a year ago but the people who were selling the house still haven't decided a good date but all my stuff is being transported from Korea to Japan now and I won't be able to move in until they leave which could take months for them to even consider after they told me a date and then changed last minute." Yedam breathed in heavily after that sentence.
Yedam had nowhere to stay except the lounge at work which had been opened for employees to stay in if they need.
"So where are you staying now.?" Mashiho asked as he walked to his kitchen and sat on the counter as Yedam followed him.
"The employee lounge at work." Yedam replied as if it wasn't a big deal.
"No. That's too dangerous. You know how many people get hurt staying in employee lounges? Anyone can get in." Mashiho said sounding offended, he was against anyone staying anywhere in the public eye.
"Well if not then I'll have to go back to Korea where everyone knows who I am and so many of them hate me for leaving Treasure." Yedam replied disappointingly, you could see tears hit the rim of his eyes.
"Yah! They do not hate you. They just don't know how to feel because we both didn't give them a good explanation for leaving at the same time." Mashiho reassured him and put both of his hands on his shoulders.
"By the way... why did you leave at the same time as me?" Yedam asked as he leaned on the counter by the kitchen sink.
"Oh-.."
(Not this being exactly how I imagined Mashiho to look)
