" HEY, YOU OK?"

Mel jumped, looking up at Marlene who was watching her with expectancy, a hint of concern on her features.

She hadn't managed to shake that bad feeling. It made her nauseous, sick with dread for an impending doom that certainly wouldn't happen.

At least, that's what she hopes.

" Yeah, yeah," She nods, grabbing her bag off of the table. " Just wanna get home, don't feel good."

" I hope you're not catching whatever Albert has. If you get me sick, you're as good as dead." Marlene playfully threatens, and Mel scoffs, a hint of a smile on her face.

Albert had been sent home not long after Mel took over for him, due to the fact he was running a fever.

A bad fever. He was sweating from head to toe, couldn't even talk due to how suffocating his body heat was.

They left him with his wife, and she took him home.
"Nah, don't think so. Just got a bad feeling." She shrugs, before they both exited the back room.

" You still need a ride?" Marlene asks as she flicks the lights off, pulling the keys from her pocket. Mel only nods, glancing around anxiously as  Marlene pulls the shutters.

Marlene frowns at Mel's state as they approach her black Ford Focus, but shrugs it off, unlocking the car.

Mel shivers at the chill in Marlene's car as she gets settled, turning the radio on.

"Where is the love' by the Black Eyed Peas starts to play, and Marlene chuckles, reversing out of the parking lot.

" This is my song!" Mel exclaims, now feeling a bit better, though a sense of dread still nagged at the back of her brain.

Marlene just listened to Mel belt out the lyrics. Mel was no Fergie, let's just say that.

Before they knew it, they'd pulled into the parking lot of Melissa's apartment building, Marlene turning down the radio volume slightly.

" I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" Marlene suggests, well, more like reminds. " You don't usually work a Saturday, so don't forget."

"I do not forget." Mel scoffs, opening the car door.

She says goodbye before shutting the door, hearing her pull away as she pulls open the door to the building.

Melissa reaches into her purse and pulls out her
Nokia 1100, calling Anna.

" Hello?" Her voice bleeds through the line as Mel steps into the elevator.

" Hey, what time you gonna be home tonight?" Mel asks, pushing the '34' button.
