The brisk air caught my breath. It was a lot colder than expected, but I really couldn't make my way all the way back to the dungeons to get something warmer so I walked further forward through the courtyard and down the stone steps in front of me. The closer that I got to the ground, the more that my body warmed up. I wasn't 100% sure if it was due to me getting used to the warmth, or that I was getting out the high wind.

Once I'd reached the bottom of the steps, I stared into the distance at the Black Lake. This was my lake. I had deemed it mine since it was always so peaceful to sit by and no one would ever be near. As I made my way closer to the water's edge I saw a shadow. No one should be here, especially not at this time. Was it a Professor? I edged closer slowly, hoping that I could identify the figure before I got too close.

"Nox," I whispered quietly, lowering my wand.

The moonlight highlighted the silhouette when I walked even closer and I could see that it wasn't a Professor. It looked like a student. The closer I got, I could see a plump outline of a boy looking out onto the water.

"Frog boy?!" I gasped as I walked over to Neville.

"Oh, Y/n! I didn't know you'd be here!" He chirped.

"And you thought I'd expect to see you here? What are you doing here? Where have you been?" Questions spilled out of my mouth, curious as to where my friend had been hiding the last week. I walked over and plonked down next to him on the damp grass. I just knew as soon as I stood up I'd have a wet bum, but it was far too late now.

"I'm still in the Hospital Wing. After Madam Pomfrey fixed my arm, I've been a bit unwell since. I got scared being in the Hospital Wing, alone in the dark... Peeves would also sometimes fly in and scare me. I've started to think he's doing it on purpose," he frowned.

"That definitely sounds like Peeves," I laughed.

"You've met him? He's so scary!" Nevile gasped.

"Unfortunately I've had the not so pleasure of meeting him - yep. He's not very nice." My mouth twisted into a half smile, unsure if it was even worth joking about as I didn't want to scare him.

"He always takes my things, so coming out here is a bit peaceful. It's worth being told off if I get caught and I'm less scared of the dark than I am of Peeves,"

"Understandable. It is pretty nice out here on a night, especially with it being so peaceful," I smiled laying back and looking up at the stars.

"Do you come out here often?" He questioned.

"Not really at night, this is my first time down here in the dark but during the day it's so nice to watch the clouds go by,"

"I'll be out the Hospital Wing tomorrow, so this will be my last night down here," Neville responded laying his back down on the dewy grass.

There was a small silence after he said that. It was comfortable though, not one of those awkward silences you have with people you don't know. While we didn't know each other well, it felt normal. I think that Frog boy was actually becoming an unlikely friend of mine.

"Say, Frog boy, have you spoken to my sister at all?" I asked him, diverting my eyes from the night sky to him.

"She visited me and we actually spoke about you and oh hey, I remember, she told me that you chased Draco on your broom trying to get my remembrall back and you were both caught by Professor Snape but then now you were actually both trying out to be Slythern's new seeker but she doesn't think you should be praised for flying when Madam Hooch said anyone who flew should be expelled." He babbled out in one single breath. I sighed, knowing her thoughts hadn't changed a single bit.

"Well, yeah. We did both get to tryout, we find out who gets it next Friday, so let's hope the Mudblood Queen becomes victorious over the evil Draco Malfoy," I laughed now sitting up slightly, leaning on my arms. "Speaking of your remembrall, I still have it - it's in my dorm"

"Really? Gran would go mental if she knew I lost it!" I could almost see the terror in his eyes.

"Yeah I looked for you in the Great Hall to give it to you but you weren't there so never got the chance. What about, as it's your last night in the Hospital Wing, I go get the remeberall out of my dorm and stay in there with you tonight? Just so you aren't alone and I can fight off Peeves if he comes round. Neville's face lit up.

"Are you sure? Do you really not mind?" He asked excitedly.

"Of course not, I'll just have to make sure I wake up early enough so that no one spots I'm gone and I get detention when I'm hoping to make the Quidditch team," I smiled getting to my feet.
