Chapter 2

The next morning Chaewon awoke at around 6:30 in the morning. She kept tossing and turning for another fifteen minutes, trying to fall back asleep for just a little longer, but eventually gave up and decided to just get out of bed. She quickly brushed her teeth and took a shower before she changed into a pair of comfortable shorts and a crop top. She then went to the front door to retrieve the little plastic bag of freshly baked bread the local baker had brought them hanging from the doorknop, deciding to wait with breakfast until her mother had also woken up. She just poured herself a glass of orange juice instead and took a sip, her face scrunching up at the horrible taste of toothpaste mixed with orange juice, which reminded her she had just brushed her teeth.

She then walked over to the back door and opened it, letting the warm outside air envelop her. It is then that she noticed a young girl standing at their pool. The girl had dyed her hair in a bright red color and a pair of sunglasses sat on top of her head, serving as somewhat of a hairband to keep her hair out of her face. The girl was wearing a pair of blue denim shorts and a yellow lakers tank top that she had tied up at the bottom to turn the oversized top into a crop top, revealing the girl's fit looking body. All of this was accompanied by a pair of slippers. Chaewon watched as the girl cleaned the pool, bopping her head to the beat of the music she was listening to through her wired headphones, her lips moving as she softly sang along. Chaewon smiled at the sight of the girl who seemed to be completely lost in her own little world.

Chaewon was pulled out of her thoughts when the red head turned to her and locked eyes with her, only now noticing the brunette standing in the doorway, greeting her with a small bow, which Chaewon returned with a small wave.

Chaewon then stepped outside and with her glass of orange juice she made her way to a small metal table that stood against the wall of the house on the lawn accompanied by two chairs. She put her glass on the table and sat down on one of the chairs, leaning back against the backrest of the chair as she closed her eyes and let out a deep breath.

The warmth of the already bright sun tickled her skin and she could already feel a thin layer of sweat appear on her forehead.

After a couple of minutes she opened her eyes again and as she looked ahead of her, her eyes landed on the red haired girl again.

For a few minutes she just watched as the girl finished cleaning the pool before she put away her gear in the shed, returning from the small building with a hose, which she then continued to attach to a faucet. She put the end of the hose in the pool and then turned the faucet on, letting fresh water stream into the pool.

The red haired girl then sat down on one of the steps that led down to the pool area, letting out a sigh as she swept the sweat off her forhead with the palm of her hand. The girl looked tired and incredibly hot and Chaewon almost felt bad that she was just sitting there, watching, while the girl was working hard in the already scorching weather. And so the brunette came up with an idea.

She got up from the chair and hurried into the kitchen where she grabbed a glass that she then filled with some cold orange juice before she hurried back outside.

She then walked up to the red head and tapped her on the shoulder, which startled her a little and caused her to look up as she took out her headphones.

"Here." Chaewon said with a small smile as she offered the girl the glass of orange juice.

"Oh, thanks, you didn't have to." the girl said politely as she took the glass from her, flashing her a small smile.

"It's no problem. You seemed like you needed it." Chaewon said with a chuckle.

"Thanks, I kind of do." the girl chuckled as she took a long sip.
