Chapter 7

Chaewon looked at herself in the mirror of the small bathroom as she was brushing her teeth. It was Sunday morning, a little before seven. The night before, the brunette had set her alarm early, because she had found herself enjoying Yunjin's company in the mornings and so she wanted to be up and ready when the girl would come to do her morning tasks at their house. Chaewon was generally an early riser, sleeping in was a waste of time to the girl, so she didn't mind and if this meant she would get to have another pleasant conversation with the red haired girl, then it was definitely worth it.

Once Chaewon was done brushing her teeth and hair and she had put on some comfortable clothes, she made herself a cup of tea before emerging into the yard at almost exactly seven o'clock, where she sat down on one of the small metal chairs at the small metal table. When she looked around, however, there was no sign of the red head.

'Maybe she was late today?' Chaewon thought to herself.

She waited for about ten more minutes, mindlessly scrolling through her phone, but still no sign of the girl. Did she not come on Sundays? Was she going to be later on Sundays? Was Sunday her day off? These were all questions the brunette asked herself as she waited for those, by now, familiar strands of red hair to appear in front of her.

Chaewon was about to give up and go back inside when she heard a voice.

''Good morning early birdy!''

The brunette looked up excitedly, almost out of reflex, but then processed the girl's words enough to notice the accent followed by the brown hair and sweet smile that all belonged to none other than Danielle and the brunette felt slightly disappointed again. Nothing personal towards Danielle, Chaewon adored the brunette, but she was kind of hoping to see someone else this morning.

''Hi, good morning!'' the brunette replied with a smile, trying to match the other girl's excitement.

''Is there a special reason that you are sitting here at seven in the morning on a Sunday during your tropical vacation or are you always up this early?'' Danielle then asked, which earned her a chuckle from the brunette, before she entered the small shed.

''Yeah, I'm quite the morning person. I don't really like sleeping in. No special reason.'' the brunette replied. It wasn't a total lie, she really was a morning person, but at the same time there was a bit of a special reason, but Danielle didn't need to know that. Chaewon didn't want the latter to get the wrong idea.

''I'm usually an early riser too, but after a night like last night I would have preferred to stay in bed for just an hour more to be honest.'' the tall brunette said with a small laugh.

''Then why didn't you? Isn't it Yunjin's job to clean the pools?'' Chaewon asked, hoping to find out the reason for the red head's absence without being too obvious.

''Well, we all work for her dad, Yunjin, Hanni, Chan, Felix and I. We all clean some pools in the morning but yeah, usually this pool is Yunjin's job. Yunjin, however, has landed herself in a coma after last nights shenanigans, so she asked me ever so sweetly to cover for her this morning so she could enjoy the comfort of her bed a little longer and I, the fool that I am, agreed.'' the taller girl explained, which made Chaewon let out a small laugh.

''Oh God, what did she do?'' the brunette asked curiously.

''She just drank an ungodly amount again. I practically had to carry her home and then I slept over at her house to make sure she wouldn't do anything stupid.'' the taller girl huffed, shaking her head at the memories of the night before.

''Did she do anything stupid though?'' Chaewon asked, intrigued.

''Let's say I had to practically drag her away from the water because she insisted on going skinny dipping and then when we got home and she got out of the shower she started talking about some random things, then cried over those things, before she fell asleep mid crying.'' Danielle explained, at which Chaewon laughed.
