Chapter 3

Chaewon was woken up by a sudden light hitting her face, causing her to squint her eyes. When she sat up to see what had caused the sudden light, she was met with her mother, who had opened her curtains.

"Good morning sunshine." her mother said.

"Good morning, to what do I owe the pleasure of being ripped out of my sweet dreams by an enormous amount of light?" the brunette asked jokingly.

"I don't want to go to the village too late, and since it didn't seem like you were going to wake up by yourself anytime soon, I just decided to help you a little." her mother smiled.

"What time is it?" Chaewon asked.

"It's almost 8:30, I want to leave before ten, so you have an hour and a half max." her mother replied.

"That should be manageable." the brunette said as she watched her mother leave her room, closing the door behind her.

The brunette rubbed the sleep out of her eyes with her hands as she let out a yawn, before she got out of her bed.

She stumbled to the bathroom where she brushed her teeth and took a quick shower. She then put on some blue denim shorts, a white top that Sakura had crocheted for her for her birthday and her white sneakers. She then brushed her hair and applied some light make up before she left her room and walked to the kitchen.

"There's still some bread left and I made you a cup of tea already, it's on the counter." her mother told her as the brunette walked past her.

"Thanks mom." she replied.

She made herself some breakfast and then grabbed the cup of tea from the counter before she joined her mother at the dining table.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Chaewon asked as she took a bite.

"Aside from the market I am not sure what there is we can do in Torrecera but I'm sure there'll be some cafe's and restaurants we can check out and we can just walk around there for a bit I suppose." her mother said as she was reading something on her phone, probably the newspaper, as she did every morning.

"Sounds good to me." Chaewon said as she took another bite.

"How are your friends? Sakura and Kazuha are in Japan now, right?" her mother then asked after a moment of silence.

"Yeah, they are staying with Kazuha's parents right now. I think they are having a good time there. They both sounded really happy when I called them yesterday. Eunchae is bored at home though." the brunette told her.

"Eunchae is starting college after the summer break as well right?" her mother continued to ask.

"Yeah, she is." Chaewon replied.

"What is she going to study again?" her mom asked.

"Art, like me. She'll move into the dorms as well, so we'll be roommates." the brunette said, smiling at the thought.

"It's the first time Sakura and Kazuha are meeting each other's parents right?" her mother then asked.

"Yeah, Sakura was quite nervous at first, but Kazuha's parents ended up loving her." Chaewon replied.

"I'm glad to hear that. They are good together, those two." her mother said.

"They are." is all the brunette replied before she continued to eat her breakfast.

Once Chaewon was done eating she and her mother packed some basic supplies such as sunscreen, two bottles of water and some snacks, before they left the house and got into the car. Her mother typed the name of the town into her phone's navigation and just like that they were off.
